How many Faulk owners cringed last night when they took him out? I pity the poor people who took Kurt Warner as an early round pick. I had to suffer through a week with no Ahman Green but I still managed to squeak a win out.

The latest news is that Marshal Faulk will not be playing against Dallas and that Lamar Gordon will be starting instead of Trung Candidate. Pick up Gordon while you can.

I cringed aye, and it cost me my game. 2-1 so far tho so still in good shape.

i'm 3-0, in first place. My kicker (David Akers) scored more points than my opponents quarterback this week. With a 50+ yard fg, 2 short range fgs, 5 extra points, and nearly 15 yards rushing on a fake!

nah, I didn't go for warner, or faulk...I don't do the predictable.

I have Akers as well. That was a pleasant surprise to have the kicker score a boat load of points for you. I got screwed by Gannon having a bye week and the only QB I had was Testeverde. That sorry bastard got barely more than Faulk did in his short time in the game. The guy who has Warner in our league can't give him away now.

:(

Well, I have worse, namely Randy Moss, and Keyshawn Johnson as my wideouts. Ugh... thank goodness for Travis Henry, Tomlinson, and my kicker, Vinateri, otherwise I would 0-3 instead of 2-1.

I wonder what lucky bastards actually had the forsight to draft Priest Holms and Tom Brady really high. :p

Take it from a guy that lives in Minnesota.

Never bet on anyone from the Vikings!

3-0 so far and leading the league in points :)

Being carried by Favre and the TB defense so far, hope they keep it up!

hehe

Farve, Bledsoe and TB defense been carrying me.

I hate my running backs... Dillon been sucking, Hearst and Garner alternating weeks of byes sucks.

2-1 and I'll be happy after this week as all my players schedules seem to have easy weeks coming up.

Those who gambled on Ricky Williams look to get a BIG payoff this season. Wish I had

The Bucs seem to be coming together as a team, but it looks like the ball is going to be spread around too much for anyone other than Brad Johnson to put up good numbers. Pittman is my bet for suprise points. He was great in Arizona, and actually having an entire offense around him should not hurt his production.

Here is who I have going this weekend.
QB Rich Gannon oakland
WR Mohammad Mussein carolina
WR Rod Smith denver
RB Ahman Green greenbay
RB Lamar Smith carolina
TE Chad Lewis philadelphia
WR/RB Lamar Gordon st. louis
K David Akers philadelphia
DEF Tampa Bay

If Faulk starts I am going to be hurting because I don't have anyone to fill that spot. My bench has a bye this week for the most part. I am trying to make a trade for Jerry Rice so I can maximize my points with a Gannon to Rice TD.

Tampa has been awesome this year and Sapp is a God.

I have Faulk and I was disappointed. I tied my game which meant resorting to overtime players (Brian Griese) so I win. I'm 3-0.

I have Akers as well but started Automatica-Grammatica instead. :)

Here's my team

QB-Favre
QB-Griese
RB-Faulk
RB-Edge
RB-A. Smith
WR-C. Chambers
WR-R. Gardner
WR-A. Freeman
WR-J. Smith
K- Automatica
K- Akers

We have 12 in ours so I didn't bother listing my bench because they are the guys waiting for the others to get hurt. Then again some are just because I like taking a chance on, like Brian Finneran from Atlanta. Last year I picked up Anthony Thomas before anyone knew what was going on and he did great for me.

Fucking Randy Moss...

Why is it that some of these amazingly talented asshole have to pull dumb ass stunts and end up in jail!

Moss is, has always been, and always will be a total dipshit. I knew it from his first year in the pros. Sure his talent speaks for itself, but since he arrived in Minnesota, he has had beef with some of the most respected people in the NFL. Chris Carter, Dennis Green, and now Daunte. The dude says "I play when I feel like it".

He's got a bad case of what I like to call "the Jeff George syndrome".

No matter how much talent he's got, his personality will ruin any football team.

I fucking laughed my ass off when he started crying during the ESPN interview though. What a moron.

Last night I traded Garrison Hearst (rb) and Freddy Jones (te) for Donald Driver (wr) and Pete Mitchell (te).

Today I traded Donald Driver for Jerry Rice and Pete Mitchel for Kyle Brady. I think this weekend is going to be pretty sweet.

Is that for certain? Damn I picked up his back up just in case. If Faulk is playing then I am benching or even dropping the back up then.

Serious question.

Searyx,
Fantasy football, or any fantasy sport for that matter, is when a group of people form a league and draft professional athletes of the relating sport (football-nfl,baseball-mlb,hockey-nhl,etc). Each person forms their own team, and a set of rules are agreed upon for scoring, and rosters and such. Then, and this differs from league to league, but the teams play matchup style. Meaning, one team against another in points. Your athletes obviously vary from many teams in the professional league, so sometimes one matchup takes an entire week. But the points are scored, and whichever team has the highest score wins.

Variations, some leagues play pure points with now matchup, and a billion other rule variations exist out there.

Well, goodbye to Lamar Gordon for now. I had to do some trading but I ended up with Pinkston (wr) from the Eagles. I hope Mcnabb can throw some of that $115m are his way for a few TD's ths Sunday.

And goodbye to Kurt Warner for a bunch of weeks. How many of you are trying to trade him away and how many just dropped him outright?

Shaun Alexander was a BEAST this weekend scoring 4 rushing and 1 receiving TD.

Tony Gonzalez racked up 3 TD's make him a damn good play in FF.

How many of you are disappointed in Ahman Green? He was my first pick and the guy has yet to score a TD.

Posted: October 1, 2002, 4:51 pm
by Tennaj
Green and Alexander have both been big disappointments this year. They were ranked by most 'professional' forecasters as the # 2 and #3 overall picks. Alexander scoring 5 TDs in a game is great, but you don't win in fantasy football that way. You need consistancy. Alexander won week 4 for most of his owners, but he didn't help at all weeks 1 - 3.

P. Holmes has been the man this year.

As an unrelated note to the last few comments. I was too drunk this saturday to update my fantasy football team before the game on sunday. (I'm still not sure how I was unable to operate yahoo's site, but such was the case)

I played with no quarterback this week, still managed 80 points and won. Grats me 4-0.

I am in trouble this week. The team I go against belongs to my wife.
