Yes... but being called "cake" does not mean that it is in fact cake as in a dessert. One of the definitions of cake is:

2 a : a block of compacted or congealed matter <a cake of ice>

Therefore, cheesecake is merely a block of compacted/congealed cheese. And since cheesecakes tend to come in graham cracker crusts, rather than pie crusts, I would say it's a CHEESE! A pie crust, by definition, is a pastry crust. And graham != pastry.

It really is just that simple.

now, i can get my fix with the first two by simply eating cheesecake

but if i do so, i'll gain weight and eventually this could put a strain on my third love (not in the order of importance, of course)..
