I spent the weekend in the Phoenix area and found myself down in Tempe on Saturday night. It's an awesome area. The weather was great, which is normal this time of year, but not year-round and added a lot to my feelings about the area, the nightlife was amazing and the people were very friendly.

So all you who went to FF. *nya!*

I love it here, except for maybe in july and august. Mill is alright (I assume that is where you were)...but I find the crowd being younger and younger than me


And. I wish I could have gone to vegas too

My new job is in tempe Yeah I love the valley. It rained over the last weekend, and if you live here you pretty much love the rain.

Good lord, tons of us seem to live out here.

Of course, when I say tons I really mean like 8 or 10.

That area is really nice. I am not one for the desert, but I have always had a good time there. It also has a great job market and low cost of living which is always good.

Holy shit. Stay out of my state all of you!

Downtown Tempe is a nice area most of the time. I spent lots of time there while going to ASU. It can get a little out of control on the weekends with the cruising high schoolers but otherwise it's ok.

The Phoenix area is a nice place except for the 8 months of the year it's boiling hot here. As long as you have good AC in your home and car the heat isn't that big of a deal.

Tucson, here. Smaller than the Phoenix metro area, but we have a lot less smog and traffic, so it works.

... Except that in Phoenix if there isn't a sporting event going on... Nothing's going on. (or so it seemed).

Tempe was just great though. And the Chicago pizza place down by ASU was some of the best Pizza ever.

Phoenix itself sucks ass. The surrounding cities are nice (they're all nice on the east side except Mesa where Stragi lives! ) Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler, Fountain Hills, and the Ahwatukee Foothills which is officially part of Phoenix but it's separated by South Mountain and should be it's own city.

Jackson's at AWA in Phoenix is fun, otherwise I might stick to Tempe and Scottsdale

Really, I don't think the heat here is too bad. The summer months are hot but really quite bearable, especially with ac everywhere. It is only when we get a trace of humidity that it gets bad. I was lucky enough to move down here in the summer of 95, it hit 115 about a week after I moved from Colorado....trial by fire, literally.

Plus in Tucson we have Mt Lemmon just to the north, so can drive up for a nice cool retreat from the heat when it gets in the 110+ degrees of summer. Kind of a weird feeling to have asphalt "move" when you walk on it...

And for entertainment value, go to Sabino Canyon and watch mountain lions eat people....well, they SAY they're gone now, but we all know better.

Im so glad i finally moved from AZ this past summer. I do agree on friday and sat nights down Mill ave can be major fun but other then that hate it there.

Where did you move and why do you like it better?

Moved to Nasville area. Just got tired of that heat and desert. Wanted to see green grass and colors for a change. Although i will admit i do miss AZ susets and clear night skys when all the stars shine bright. I don't miss the sirens all the time, hearing about shootings a mile from my home. I don't miss dirty phx and dust storms yuk! although Monsoon season is fun
Lived between there and NV my whole life. just needed a big scenery change.

Lived in mesa and worked in PHX, scottsdale, chandler, gilbert and Tempe (job had me all over)

I've lived all over the place and in varied climates and enjoy the desert the most. I don't plan on moving anywhere but it wouldn't be a big deal to go anywhere that had high speed internet and a place to get slurpees nearby. My needs are few.

I visited Phoenix for work a few times and enjoyed it greatly. I especially liked visiting Alice Cooper's Cooperstown (Megadeth meat loaf, LOL). Looking forward to getting a chance to visit Mesa sometime this year as well.

Phoenix has a Major League Baseball team, with a great stadium. Outside of that, nothing really stood out about the city.

Born and raised in Tucson, but went to college up in Flagstaff. Became friends with a ton of people from Phoenix. Phoenix is always a blast when I visit. Tempe is easily the most popular night spot in Arizona. Tucson is fun too, but you have to know where to go casue its not as localized as it is in Phx. The other big party place in Arizona is Lake Havasu, which is sick during the summer and spring break. IMO Flagstaff is a shithole and a sorry excuse for a city.

The greater Tempe area is like Las Vegas without the gambling.

I would of loved to goto ASU but they charge way too much for out of state students.
