Haven't had a movie in quite a while, have we? Well, you still don't get a movie. You get an edited into Black & White music video
I know all the music purists are going to be screaming "They suck, they suck! Go listen to Tool!" But they can all go fuck themselves, because this is some good shit here!

I love track 2 the best. Liberate has such a good drum pattern of double kick bass. I play drums wish I could do double bass that well.

Yeah but you see there's a problem with that. System has been around for about 5 years or so, meaning they're not "new"

Where's option #3... "Fuck all nu-metal shit, listen to real metal" ?
Not that there's anything wrong with [old] Tool, but Disturbed's only purpose would be as a coaster for my coffee mug.

All you System of a Down fans do yourself a favor and DL the song called "Fuck the System", turn it up, and proceed to rock. It's some weird shit, but somehow it's still great, just like all thier stuff.
Btw, I've been listening to SOAD for about 4.5 years. Snot mentioned them in thier linear notes so I checked them out. There was a large group of metal bands that toured together before they became famous. Some made it, others didn't. I like the "now famous bands" just as much as the unknowns and others that did not make it to popularity. Fame != suck. People that follow that train of thought are fucking idiots, IMO.

The only system songs i havent listened to yet are the ones that have leaked from toxicity which i refuse to listen to until system themselves puts it out. As for fuck the system, i rather listen to marmalade, even thou the one you said is still good
For a real treat, download the videos of system live in Australia from the show "Big Day Out" i think its a relativly new annual concert, very good bands play.
Edit: oh and searyx i wanna find out where you heard chop suey was called suicide

I was listening to System of a Down a good while before they were on MTV. Most of my friends went to see them when they were in Cincinnati at Bogarts. Apparently, they are fucking AWESOME when live
As for the song title, I don't remember exactly. My friend told me about it, so I looked it up and found it confirmed on several fan sites.
If you don't believe me, you can look it up yourself. Then again, think about it. Listen to the song. Why would they name it "Chop Suey!" unless they were using the title as a big "Fuck You!" to the censors that told them to change it?

You're kidding me right? MTV is the worse television station ever created. I would personally shoot Caron Daily's right in his little teenyboppin "i'm a fucking wannabe" ass. I've been listening to Disturbed since before they "made it to MTV" which is supposed to be some sort of accomplishment. I've been listening to System for about four years now and have seen them live twice. And yes they are amazing live, just like Disturbed.

do you know where carson dalys roots are from? anyways i was just bein pissy to searyx and being a smartass hehe relax. whoever it was in this post who said something like" people hate who do not like their band" is a genius, i just proved that theory right there. anyways i was just sayin system and those bands are regurgitaed music, as is OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of the popular stuff. becuase you heard it 4 years ago. well everyone can say that about their fav bands. How do you like it when they go mainstream? its a business you know. I can tell you all my fav bands suck OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS more once they get popular, thats what i was saying about mtv and radio(heeh atually i was just being an ass!). You know "video killed the radio star?" might be too young for that stuff tho *shrug*

I don't hate bands because they get popular, I just hate bands that are popular because no metal band worth a shit will ever become popular without completely changing their style to appease the corporate rock fucktards. It's simply a fact that the mainstream American public is a bunch of pussies who will only listen to watered down metal or, even worse, metal that has been bastardized with some sort of rap inspired bullshit.
There's only one nu-metal band which even comes close to having any sort of musical integrity, and that's Slipknot. Stupid costumes and inane lyrics aside, at least they aren't afraid to use blast beats like a real death metal band.
As for SOAD, yea, their first album was very original and they do indeed put on an excellent live show... their subsequent albums had the life sucked out of them like every other band on a major label, however.
Anyone who thinks Disturbed has talent needs to go pick up Shadows Fall, "Of One Blood" and maybe they'll see there's a whole world of music far better than what the major record labels allow you to hear.

I disagree yet again. Many bands put out consistantly good music even after gaining popularity. Tool is a fine example. "shit, blood and cum on my hands" is not a lyric that was written to be radio friendly or make money off the masses. That is one example of many "popular" metal bands out there. Mudvayne, Korn, Slayer, and many others did not seek out popular culture to make a fortune. They play and sing how they feel and see things. Low and behold, other people have somthing in common with thier point of view and style. It comes with striking a chord with people. A chord that was never previously sought out by the music industry simply because they didn't know people would like that type of music.
SOAD is weird. They follow no one else's style and are one of a kind. They will continue that trend wether they make it on the radio or not. Even if you detest them, you have to admit they do are not afriad to experiment or mix things up through lyrics, vocals, mixing, or rythem.

You're kidding me, right? In my opinion, Toxicity is a superior album to the self-titled first album.
I didn't think so at first, however. When I first heard System of a Down - System of a Down, I loved it. When I first heard Toxicity, I hated it. Didn't get the rhythm, too different from the original, etc, etc...
Then I listened to it again... and again... and again...
It gets better and better with each listening.

Maybe I am just getting old but some of the music today is just noise. When I think of music I think of a band trying to make that one song that will withstand the test of time, the song that people will instantly know no matter what genre they like. I haven't heard anything like that in a while.
Saod is a bit different for my tastes but I listen to it when I hear it on the radio. It isn't something that makes me want to crank it up though. I guess it has to do with what you like at the moment. For example when X-ecutioners Goin Down comes on the volumn goes up. When Tox comes on the volumn goes down. They remind me of trying to be too much like Pink Floyd. I like some things from Days of a New (?), and Cake.

"When I first heard System of a Down - System of a Down, I loved it."
Are you sure you dont mean the song P.L.U.C.K.? Or are you refering to the self titled album?

Referring to the self-titled Album.
