I saw on one of the news channels (cnn headline news, i think) that this was a hoax / publicity stunt supposedly. Not that I understand the point of it as a publicity stunt...

iirc, that stunt was actually aired on the Jamie Kennedy Experiment.
I didn't watch the linked movie though.
