haha, i just downloaded and its great. if you aren't aware of this album, i'll fill you in. DJ Dangermouse took Jay-Z's vocals from The Black Album and combined them with the instrumentals from The White Album. lawyers et al. are trying to sue Dangermouse with copyright infringement so a bunch of people are taking it to the websites for free downloading. i found it on suprnova and got it in 10 minutes. its pretty inventive, if you liked the black album you will like this. not sure if the same can be said about beatle fans.

What's not to like? Well crafted vocals mixed by a pretty badass DJ into one of the fucking best albums ever made.

heh, thats good stuff

for reference, john oswald (http://www.plunderphonics.com), has been doing that for ages, and has had shit loads of legal bs from it

negativland also had some highly publicized shith with u2/lawyers

ive always found this sort of shit fascinating , where 'fair use' falls for some people

i have an album laying around here call deconstructing beck, other than being a shithead, he tried suing someone(i forgot who) for using a sample from one of his songs
the irony being how many unlicensed samples he has all over his albums,
as protest, a bunch of 'cultural recyling' artists put together a compilation cd of music recreated out of beck material, i 'bought' it for free, just paying for the materials or something silly like that,
