Situation -

Computer locks up during mostly EQ, no response from anything, monitor, mouse, keyboard, nothing it's frozen.

I'm running GeForce4 Ti4400, AMD2100+, Onboard sound, NIC card, 512 DDR, HD, and a CD drive.

i've swapped out my video card with another and I still freeze.

I've got my RAM tested and it ran all 5 hoops or whatever, it was perfect.

Now, i guess it could only be my cpu or my MoBo.

another thing, i'm not really sure how this works or what not but i see on my BIOS settings i see like 1866mhz but when it boots up on the POST? and when I see the settings in the My Computer System properties, i see 1733mhz..

I'm not overclocking, I'm runnin 2.9.4.2 drivers for the Geforce, and i'm running windows XP Pro with SP....

DirectX9b..

I've tried all video card drivers, i've tried dx9, dx8, d9b and whatever, and im still freezing..

I have 3 fans inside my computer, with a 2 foot fan on the outside blowing air out, and i still crash, so i don't believe it's heat, Although it still could be right?

-------

if anyone can help, or talk me through some other things, i'd really be grateful, if it is my MoBo, anyone got a good suggestion for another mobo to get or even some great parts for around 500 that could make a good gaming system?

Thanks a bunch.

My first thought was a heat problem. Get some sort of temp monitoring software, that might give you a clue if it is a heating issue.

Number of fans doesn't mean much.

I'd try MBM and see what it tells you.
