I read some of the numbers, about the NHL spending 75% of their total revenue on players vs 63% for the NFL, 64% for MLB and 58% for the NBA and it astounds me. I think there a lot of stupid and inept business people in positions of power in the NHL and various teams, but I also think the NHLPA also needs to address the fact that while things may be worse then they have thought/presented. 19 teams losing money vs 11 showing any profit... and the league as a whole losing 272 million... I wonder when the new professional hockey league will be formed :p

At this rate the only two teams that will be left in the league are the wings and the rangers.

The NHL is on its last legs. When their contract with ESPN expires the league may fold all together.

No TV and no support makes NHL go bye bye

or maybe theyll just ax the regular season and skip straight to the playoffs. Modify it so every team participates, Have a 5 game elimination series til the final 4, then go to seven games. Then play for the Cup. Two months of playoffs is more than enough hockey. That would make the sport worth while. As it is now, its just a waste of airtime and a waste of Sportscener highlights.

good riddance

first the NHL, and then MLB

both sports are going under, don't ask me why the wings would keep two goalies for 16mil or the rangers pay AROD $25 million to swing a bat when their sports are in so much trouble
