Norwegian lawmaker Jan Simonsen of the right-wing Party of Progress has nominated Bush and Blair several years in a row, including this year..

Simonsen wrote that by removing Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, they lessened the chance of a war using weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East and laid the foundation for the development of democracy.
Thanks, now I have to clean the coffee off my monitor. :?

Just for the record, Jan Simonsen is generally viewed as a stupid clown. Unfortunately, he is a racist, schauvinistic (sp) pig who would have been thrown out of any party but the one he is in (which basically is founded on racist principles). I am unsure of how "law-maker" is defined but he has no special powers whatsoever.

That said, Bush doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of winning this.

Edit: Forgot to mention that he is a person who loves attention and will go to any lenght to get it. He is an expert at making "shocking" comments so he will get a couple of more minutes from the news media.

out of curiousity, what is one of those comments?

Hmm., i can just see the presentation of the candidates, Bush trying hard to figure out what those wierd signs on the teleprompter are, and the Pope muttering to himself (im NOT kidding about this one, watched the new years eve mass, or whatever its called, where the Pope was sitting and muttering into the microphone and looking like it was WAY past his bedtime, and when he started muttering into the microphone for the XXth time, the danish commentator said "and now hes talking to God")

Lundestad said many people wrongly believed being a "Nobel prize nominee" was itself a kind of honor.

Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler and former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic have made it to the list -- every member of all the world's parliaments, university professors from law to theology, ex-winners and committee members can submit names.

"There are many who do not understand the difference between a nomination and getting the prize," Lundestad said.
