Our water isn't working, I'm assuming the pipes or the well are frozen or something. WTF, it's not like I live in the north pole.

I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment - this deep freeze blows!

Thank goodness, at least, it's not windy where you are, or else that feel like temperature would be much much worse. It's been back around 0 degrees F here in southern New England again this weekend, a bit warmer than for you, but the winds have been awful (2°F, Feels Like -15°F as of 8 AM). I remember a few years back we had a long stretch of low teens temperatures and how god awful cold I thought THAT was: such temperatures would feel friggin balmy right now! I can honestly say I cannot remember such a stretch of cold temperatures, ever - and I'm an old fart!

Suffice it to say..

10 and it feels like -6. It was down to 8 last night and the record low is 4. Something is seriously wrong with numbers like that.

Freezing rain/sleet hit the St. Louis area last night and early this morning and it's still going. It's expected to continue most of the day.

It's not -11, but I'm not going to work in this :p

Drove up to Ely, MN this week for a snowmobile trip in the middle of a blizzard and plowed straight into a three foot snowbank. Spent an hour and a half trying to dig the snow out from under a bottomed out jeep grand cherokee with my hands in -25 below weather, not counting the windchill. Spent the rest of the trip in a cabin with no heat save for a small wood burning stove in the den, space heaters used too much juice and blew out the fuses. You could see your breath indoors 24/7.

p.s. thank the good lord for wool socks. I have never appreciated an article of clothing more than I did this week.

I was doing a job in St. Paul, MN (cool place) during the winter once, and a lady asked me where I was from. When I said Florida, her response was "Well where do you go on vacation then?".

Thats a real observation , Not that weather channell crap :)

If you people want a real loo at the eather , pull up a search for National weather service , and the major town in your area. Not too cold today. But this is alifornia , and I'm about 40 miles in from San Fran, s it shouldnt be this cool. That Huge body of water we call the Pacific Ocean keeps things fairly stable.

you should be wearing gloves no matter the weather! Do you want to tear your hands up in a fall. Speaking from painfull experience, you DO NOT want that!

I always wear gloves (for the reason you mentioned), but yesterday I had on long gloves over my fingerless gloves.

I hope that makes sense.

Ah, yes I see.

Messing up the hands SUCKS. Especially when you're single...it utterly destroys masturbation. Thats the worst of it.
