Causality:
  1. The principle of or relationship between cause and effect.
  2. A causal agency, force, or quality.
Correlation:
  1. A causal, complementary, parallel, or reciprocal relationship, especially a structural, functional, or qualitative correspondence between two comparable entities: a correlation between drug abuse and crime.
  2. Statistics. The simultaneous change in value of two numerically valued random variables: the positive correlation between cigarette smoking and the incidence of lung cancer; the negative correlation between age and normal vision.
  3. An act of correlating or the condition of being correlated.
In laymen's terms, it could be the case that these chemicals set in to motion a sequence of events that results in a tumor being produced and that the accumulation of these toxins causes the tumor.

Or it could be the case that in individuals that develop tumors (for other reasons) that the tumor acts as a sponge for the chemicals.

Unfortunately, our sensationalist mass media system does not appreciate this distinction and feels the need to report stories like this at the point when correlation has been established but before causality has been.

There is a difference between deoderants and anti-persperants though. Deoderant doesnt stop you from sweating, it justs masks the odor. Anti-persperants basically clog your pores so you dont sweat, which just isnt right, because sweating is important for your own body chemistry. Sweating lets out chemicals and toxins that your body doesnt need, if you clog your pores, then that shit builds up, you can imagine where that can go...

I don't see where the article supposes anything other than a link between breast cancer tumors and chemicals found in deodorant.

Research Raises Cancer Concerns Over Deodorants
That is the title of the article, but in contradiction to this, late in the article it says:
"There has been a lot of discussion surrounding a link between anti-perspirants and the disease but there is still no scientific evidence of a causal link," she added.
The title doesn't really match and is driven by sensationalism. Unforntunately, most people fail "Reading Comprehension 101" so the headline stirs up shit.
