Due to the fact that Mr. Drolgin lives overseas it is pretty much way to expensive for him to rejoin us for Fan Faire again in Vegas this year.

I myself, as well as many others find this unacceptable.

Why? Well because Drolgin owns and we had a wonderful time with him.

So...I'd like to start a fund to get Drolgin to Fan Faire this year. Perhaps Xouqua can set up some sort of Paypal donation resevior for us to donate to the Drolgin Fund.

So, if you are going to Fan Faire in Vegas and you would like to see him again - Let's toss in some cash to get him to Viva Las Vegas so we can have the dorf in action once again!

Easiest way for a Paypal link would probly be to just have Anders set it up to his account, and we can post a link here. That way the money doesn't have to be transfered later, since it is subject to a fee if you do so. (Through PayPal anyway, I think.)

well... Saiphos said at the Chicago FF that they're "pretty sure" that the FF will be considered for Vegas, but nothing is for sure yet I don't think. Maybe he will come here soon and give us an update on if Sony has decided on a location yet? I'm surprised they haven't announced it yet.

Its almost completely confirmed to be at the Rio All-Suites Hotel in Las Vegas, NV from April 1-4, 2004. I'm wrapping up contract negotiations with them now.

I'll kick in and comp his FF registration fee & badge.

At the moment I'm not even sure I will be able to make it to the Fan Faire if I had the money, I have other (wonderful!) commitments that take up most of my vacation time, so it's uncertain that I would be able to get the time off work.

And while I truly do appreciate the gesture, the idea of accepting charity - even if it's from friends - is a bit difficult for me.

I had a wonderful time in Vegas at the last Fan Faire and got to meet some absolutely CRAZY people, and I'd love to go again and am profoundly touched by this thread. But - and I'm sorry to waffle on this - I'm going to have to wait and see, at least for a while.
