As for Brittney, I read that this morning as well and I wouldn't put it past her. Hell, look at the publicity that was going on with J-Lo's wedding. Some people just want it done without People explaining every square inch of the wedding-space.

how do you get a marriage legally annulled? isn't that a catholic church thing? I don't think the state recognizes annulment as a legal seperation of a marriage contract?

Most states have a period from 7 days to 90 days in which you can back out of a marriage without going through a divorce proceeding.

There are various legal ground for annulment that have nothing to do with religion - I know several people who've had marriages annulled and they aren't Catholics or even religious.
