Might want to download that... fixes a potentially nasty bug in IE. It's not put out by Microsoft, but it seems to be a reputable site. I installed it with no problems and it fixes the issue.

Before going into IE and fixing it , what is the "nasty bug" (outside the normal ones) ? just curious

It's basically just URL spoofing, so that you click on a fake link and it looks real in the address bar, also in the "hover" status bar at the bottom if done correctly.

You should never click a URL out of an email and give it the same trust as typing it in though..

*shrug* given the severity of the bug, I wouldn't be installing anyone's third party patches to IE just yet..

I would NEVER install someone else's patch but MS's for Windows or IE. You're just asking to have something bad installed on your system.

It's open source.. not like they are trying to be sneaky.

the standard netscape and mozilla do suck teh ass....

but FIREBIRD is the best browser to date.

download the nightly build, install "All-in-One Mouse Gestures", and enjoy.

i browse circles around you.

MyIE2

or another variation at

Avant Browser

Both of these applications sit on top of the IE engine and offer a tabbed browser interface. Avant has MDI control; MyIE2 has nice mouse gestures (which I :<3: btw!)

I have used Opera and I have used IE, and I really dont see whats wrong with IE, I have never had problems with it (except when the language got changed but that was my fault) I dont see where all the hate comes from.

Yep, that's exactly what the patch fixes.

LOL greedy bastards want your earthlink account and password AND your CC number.

My favourite part, and a big part of why this exploit will only ever affect the most stupid people, is that the security box comes up with 3 out of 3 fails; Do you want to proceed? yes/no
