Printing "print to file" files

I was trying to print out my pay stubs for the last 18 months this morning, and figured I'd be smart and do a "print to file". I thought it would be a matter of dragging them onto the printer afterwards, but that doesn't work. The output looks to be a postscript file when you open it in notepad.

What are they good for and how do you print them later?

My printer is on my home network, while I'm on my companie's VPN the client routes all my traffic to the corporate gateway, so I can't get to my local printer. There are ways around it admittedly, but getting caught is always a possibility and I like getting a paid regularly.

For a while I was scanning in my paystubs and saving them as JPGs. It gets a bit teidious though. However it is nice to have them in a file so I can just pop open the folder if someone (IRS, Bank) needs to see them.

I ended up pausing the printer queue, loading them all up, disconnecting from the VPN, and starting the print job.

Aabi.... the only way to print a "Postscript" file is to use Adobe Acrobat Distiller, which turns it into a PDF. PM me if ya needs help, It's what I do for a living =P
