What do you remember about Thanksgiving while growing up? Good or bad, post em here. I lived like 2 blocks away from my grandmother's house. She had 9 kids and 8 reproduced with full families themselves and we went over to her house every year for a family Thanksgiving. Friggin relatives everywhere! I mean we had our own buffet line going on, followed by most of the guys sitting around farting and cheering on Dallas in the Thanksgiving day football game (I was always a Steelers fan). Anyways, overall not too bad for me, but not a nice quiet meal like I see on TV sometimes.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, not only because turkey, gravy, and mashed potatoes fucking own but because its a great day with the family. Everyone getting together, usually watching football. I don't get together with my family often, so its those days that you gotta cherish...

I always remember back when I was a little kid where me, my brother, my cousins would always be horsing around in the back room, someone would always get hurt and wind up crying, and then we'd answer to my grandfather. Hehe, I remember this one year I walked behind my cousin and slapped him as hard as I could on his back, he immediately jerked his body and hit his head on a table... He was ok, but cried for a good hour. So he ate his turkey in tears, my brother and I secretly laughed, we took no blame and quickly exited the room before anyone could catch us. Good times, good times.

I remember having Thanksgiving a month ago!

All is good in my disfunctional family. All of you froma family of 4 kids or more know it. You all have that 1 sibling that just ruins any get-together.
One of my fondest memories was when I was about 10 or 11. We had all of my mothers side get together in Monterey where they all grew up. Both grandparents were still alive, had Aunts come from as far as Maryland with all the kids. It was the last time we were all together before the funerals for both grandparents. We all had fun we all laughed , there was no i;ll will anywhere to be found. Oh and the turkey was MOIST !!!

Overeating and having to 'nap' with my Uncle Shirley after dinner. that lasted until I was 11.

Thanksgiving Dinner is my favorite meal. I love all the foods involved.

My EX's father jumped off a 7 story building and killed himself on Thanksgiving so that kinda put a damper on things.

Oh, eggnog usually goes on sale around Thanksgiving as well. A few eggnogs and rum is teh win!.

No specific good memories but in general, Thanksgiving is a pretty good holiday.

I remember when I didn't have to cook Thanksgiving dinner.

Those were happy and carefree days, when the stuffed bird, taters, and fixins just magically appeared on the dinner table.

It's all for the best, as I'm a much better cook than my mother.

For the last 5 years, I have had Thanksgiving with the same group of friends. My folks have been living in Thailand, and I was the only one of my family left in CA. This year, it will just be me, my brother and his wife..... I will cook a standing rib roast and we will get lit.

Well, I think this will be the weirdest thanks giving, because my uncle died yesterday. Besides that all my thanksgiving's have been great. Lots of food, wine, and always good beers because my family is Scottish and Italian. Always good fun at the kids table too. I'm 19 now and still stuck at the kids table. Then again, so is my 30 year old cousin~
