Favorite EQ memory of 2003
Favorite EQ memory of 2003
Okay, so I kinda sorta stole the idea from Aranuil, but it's a good idea nontheless.
Post your favorite memory from EQ over the last year. It could be something like seeing your guild overcome that one mob, or your adventures with friends, or the funniest moment of the year... whatever. Please provide any appropriate background info or screenshots if applicable. Please convert any screenshots to 800x600 .JPGs to keep load times down.
My favorite memory was watching my friend start EQ up as a total newbie and progress to become one of the best bards I've had the honor of playing with. I suppose it's one of those "maternal" type feelings, but watching him go from level 1 to 65 inside of a year and achieve things that I have only scrached the surface of in that time made me happier than any accomplishments that I made this year. All this while balancing a new marriage and son.

I started playing in August of 2002, It's been a year and ... say 4 months or something, and from all that time, i've never had as much fun as I've had in the last 4-5 months since Fiends was formed...
that's my moment, from every new encounter that i've been a part of.. my first EMP kill, or AHR, .. getting last shard for vt key.. finally finishing all my flags... they were all memorable...

And the Warrior sit in that happened a couple of weeks ago. Not because it brought a tear to my eye... wait actually it did. Have you ever laughed so damn hard that you start crying? Well thats why these are my favorite moments of 2003! Hell I almost wiped out my LDoN group because I was laughing so damn hard. You've been asking for them and now we're ready to discuss them. We're taking a big departure from what many of you are used to when it comes to combat. With that in mind, here is a brief summary of these exciting enhancements to better help you target your questions to us during the live chat. Don't worry if you miss the chat, we'll post the logs on EverQuestLive.com

Maybe my EQ experience sucked and that's why my best memory of EQ was quitting. I know toward the end I was only playing to 'hang out' with my friends.Winnow wrote:Your life sucks if your best memory of EQ is quitting.
AA is for quitters and I'm no quitter!
There are a lot of great people who play EQ, and it's a shame they live far away and my only opportunity to spend time with them was in EQ. Drolgin is a great example. It was worth playing EQ just to meet someone like Drolgin, Arborealus, Xouqoa, Kaelina, and many others, but I don't regret quitting. Frankly, my quality of life is much better now than it ever was when I was playing EQ.
I'm really glad that others are enjoying it and still having fun with it. I hope it stays that way for as long as you want it to.

Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Out of game: Fan Faire in Vegas where I met some awesome folks like Arborealus, Sarg, Pyrella, Lali, Drolgin and more.
In game: Defeating The Rathe Council. Quarm was cool too but the Rathe just seemed like a huge guild effort to figure out and defeat at the time. The fight hinged on so many people and classes doing a near perfect job.

My best memory in-game became my best memory out-of-game: meeting my hubby to be!
Also I enjoyed working on the Prayer Shawl quest. I remember plummetting to my death several times in one evening trying to collect those damn silk threads in Velks. I had to give up asking for rezzes because I ran out of money! lol
I enjoyed EQ a lot more when it was still "new" to me. The higher levels just felt like too much work. And once the fiance quit so he could concentrate on buying a house for us (some things are more important than a game Winnow!
), the last bit of fun went out of the game for me.

The greatest experience of my life would be my first trip to Plane of Hate way back when a few years ago. I loved that zone for some odd reason, Just raiding with my family-like guild, Saecula Saeculorum. Lotta memories there, but the new PoH doesn't have the same feel
