Shania’s show gets hairy between songs
Shania Twain's NBC taping Monday night veered off in several strange/entertaining directions.
Between songs, Shania would chat with the west Nashville audience a bit, and things got a little weird when backing vocalist/fiddler/artist extraordinaire Alison Krauss — for reasons still unclear to me —demonstrated (in her sleeveless shirt) that she had shaved her armpits.
Shania, dressed in long-sleeve black leather jumpsuit, offered that she wasn't quite as careful about body hair shaving. Shania mentioned this is a habit she got into growing up in northern Canada.
''There are a lot of hairy girls in winters,'' she said, offering images one might rather not have when staring at the gorgeous goddess that is Shania Twain.
''That's the beauty of winter. You wear long sleeves and pants and you become a gorilla.'' The audience howled.
Now I'm going to think about that every time I see Shania!

while it's not something I would admit to on stage...it makes sense...if I'm going somewhere really cold in the winter, I cut back on my bodily shaving, because quite frankly, it grows back faster than you can cut it, and it causes your skin to become irritated/stay irritated longer.
at least in my experience.

Wow, she's just like everybody, she even forgets to shave her pits *cough* bullshit *cough*!
Please, what a fucking crock. Maybe there was a time in her life this occured, but it hasn't happened since the first publicity photo was taken of her.
"Yeah, don't mind that I look like a friggen goddess and have 10 billion people grooming me every minute of my life, even they forget to shave my pits on occasion. It's true!"

I completely agree with you Tru -- in fact I'm sure everyone at some point has slacked off with shaving due to some circumstance.
But for someone like Shania, that relies so heavily on public image, I'm surprised she said that in front of an entire audience! =D

I hardly ever forget to shave my pits. My legs, on the other hand, haven't seen the razor for about a week now.
BTW, pregnancy seems to make you a tad more hairy. I tried to sweep off this really long hair on my arm and was flabbergasted when I realized that it was actually growing there! I plucked that sucka off fast-like!

Bullshit.
I am in my 30s, have lived my entire life in some of the colder clime's of Canada and I don't know ANY women that stop shaving their pits. For one thing, with jackets, sweaters, etc the armpits are usually in some of the best insulated and covered areas of the body. For another, every house, public building and vehicle has heat. There is NO climatic reason to not shave, its just personal preference.

I feel I must defend the majority of canadian women here.
Shania is from Timmins. If you've ever been up there, it will kind of remind you of a very big trailer park. I haven't met one person from that God awful town that was remotely smart or have a good sense of hygiene (male and female).
F U Shania!

I plan on visiting Canada soon, so will find out for sure!

However, it seems more likely for extra body hair here in the NW...
And Wulfran is super-hairy due to the fact you can see the shadow of his back hair....even through the armor!

I saw more hairy women in San Franciso than I ever did on my (admittedly brief) trips to Canada.
