LOL. Too funny.

This is EXACTLY the reason I don't run the audiomatch software. :P Not all of us have the well-developed musical tastes of Drolgin. :P

Whether it is a good song or not is a matter of opinion.

However, my reason for posting this thread is that it stands out in stark contrast to the rest of his musical selections.

I equate it to finding a Brittney Spears or NSYNC track in my playlist.

*whistles innocently*

The large, large majority of my playlist is either Trance, Alt. Rock, etc. but I have a weakness for cheesy pop. I rarely listen to it, but it's there. Breakfast at Tiffany's is somewhere in my collection as well and Jesse James - Shake it like a white girl and Vanilla Ice - Cool as Ice. *goes away to kill himself*

Mandy Moore > Brittney Spears
Vanilla Ice - Cool as Ice
There are just some things you should never admit. I think this is one of those cases.

Mandy Moore > Brittney Spears
Without a doubt. I admire Mandy and her ability to refrain from pimping herself out. She's turning out to be a seriously beautiful woman. That and Walk to Remember was a good movie for her debut.

Brittney.. bleh. She'll be nude soon, then her cycle will be over. Sex only sells for as long as you can keep shocking or giving 'a little bit more'. She's about done. (Same with Christina)

Unfortunately, I have a feeling you're wrong about this. Madonna is 45 years old and has been around for 20 years. I see Brittney trying to go down the same path...

And Madonna was also flashing herself around to anyone with a camera and a dollar for as long as she had something worth looking at... Same path indeed.

are you insinuating that the only thing madonna has going for her is sex appeal?

Madonna has talent. In addition to being able to remake her image avery few years which keeps her in the news and gets people talking. I don't see Brittney having that sort of appeal. She relies too much on sex to sell her music. And her singing talent isn't all that great either.

That's why I have respect for Mandy Moore. She hasn't seemed to have taken that road, at least not yet. It's not Beethoven. But for pop it's not that bad.

If you want some great Late 80's Funk/rap/Rock look no further than The Limbomaniacs. They were a very short lived group from the Bay area here. Had a couple songs that actually made it to the air, Shake It being the main one. Below are the lyrics for just one song. They were a Tad on the raunchy side with the lyrical content , but the music was to die for!

I watch porno in the day I watch porno at night
I'm a terminal case and I love my plight
Some say I'm sick I say I'm alright
All I do is fess up while they keep it out of sight
It's my own religion my own kind of heaven
Big ole schlongs goin' into little women
All for me to see on the color screen
Bonerville, Arizona, you know what I mean
CHORUS
I need porno
I need porno
Magazines yeah you know I've got 'em
Full'a young naked women with young naked bottoms
My name is House the albino mouse
I always read Penthouse never read Proust
I got every single issue of Bondage Quarterly
All but one of Gay Night Orderlies
I read the best I read the rest and now I confess
I got a life subscription to Enema Digest
CHORUS
I'm not afraid to admit to my addiction
I like to watch two people use friction
Big black Mama Jama or Ginger Lynn
I like to watch it go in and out again
On the video fast or slow-mo
I can unwind to a good porno show
My girlfriend she gets so uptight
When I call her and I tell her it's porno night
CHORUS

That is my 2vv for the day

Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake...
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love

Verse 1:
I'm under a spell again
Boy i'm wondering why
This is not a game of love but an emotional tie
I'm trying to figure out my heart (heart...)
But i can't offer you proof
Of why we should never be apart
And that is the (that is the) that is the truth
Oh...

Chorus:
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love

Verse 2:
Do you know why i stop and stare
And smile when you walk by
And how i call you up at night
I hang up the phone and i cry
If i never got to know you so well (i knew you well)
Maybe i would be fine
Baby you know that i can't tell
Why you should be (you should be) you should be mine oh

Chorus:
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love

Shake your love
I just can't shake...
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love

Bridge:
Ooh i know what you're thinking
I see it in your eyes
You want to give our love another try
I'm so glad you realize i can't...

Chorus:
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love
Shake your love
I just can't shake your love

Your love
Can't shake
Just can't shake your love

Chorus:

Nothing to be ashamed about. Hell, they practically invented the naked chick music video. They had r-rated versions of all their early stuff, perfect for the pre-pubescent teen

Yeah, nothing rocks more than an entire CD of elevator muzak a la Enya.... except perhaps that Franciscan Monk Gregorian Chant Choir CD, that one ALWAYS gets the party hopping.

I guess the only thing that looks wierd on my play list is the end theme to xenogears. You look at my list and you see
Rammstein
The Crown
The Berzerker
Children of Bodom
Dimmu Borgir
In Flames
Five Pointe O

then you see some wierd pop like song, it just doesnt seem right

Loved Duran Duran growing up, I was small when they were actually popular, but enjoyed their music a lot during my pre-teen days. Oh by the way, they're currently doing a U.S. tour at the moment. I was hoping to go to the one in November in Dallas.

Hmmm I don't think Brittney or Christina have had the same impact on our culture as Madonna has, and they may never. Any girl that grew up in the 80's knows how popular Madonna was when she came out. I used to wear the ugly spangle thing belt, the gawdy jewelry in 5th grade to imitate her. Madonna was able to cash in on an image, and was able to change it to suit her needs and to shock society. I remember when she was doing the Pepsi commercial thing, and came out with Like a Prayer. At the time it was kinda shocking to see a burning cross like that in a video, but she had the balls to do something and like it or not, was able to carve a niche in music and make her infamous.

The only thing I can see Brittney doing that is shocking is posing for Playboy, and I can foresee my dads happy grin when that happens. 8)

Truant: Good times!

Madonna also took voice lessons and hired great writers and producers for her albums. She has always made great videos, and her image makeovers are legendary.

Recently, her ego has been interfering with her music. The last few albums have been 1 or 2 good (not great) songs sandwiched between thick layers of SHIT. I love how she hopped on the anti-filesharing bandwagon when her albums stopped flying off the shelves.
