I'm sure that whatever market that is directed at wouldn't be thinking how they could save 10k on something 'better'.

Not to mention I doubt it's just slapped together. Speakers are probably water-resistant, etc. Some of us have heard of electrocution.

Good Point although for parts used, that's one hell of a markup. That looks like a 40" projection TV and not a plasma so that HDTV would run around 1,600.00 as it looks exactly like a Toshiba from looking at the top of the TV. Plenty more models priced like it at their website. HDTV is certainly affordable now...so the main coolness of that setup doesn't cost a whole lot. The remote makes the entire package priceless though : )

Obviously if you take just about anything that consists of multiple assembled/integrated components it will, in most cases, cost more than the total of those components purchased seperately.

I actually know a guy who bought something along the same lines, I don't know if it was the same product. The price point seems pretty similar, if it is the same make/model, it is an HD Plasma screen. The guy bought a couple $10k tv's at the same time for other rooms in his house.
I'd totally buy one of those, "off the shelf", if money weren't an object.
