I'm still sort of undecided about the whole issue. On the one hand, I think Limbaugh is a total douche. On the other, that seems like a relatively benign comment to become such an issue.

And on my third hand, I think that:
From there, the firestorm spread quickly. Democratic presidential candidates Wesley Clark, Howard Dean and Rev. Al Sharpton called for ESPN to fire Limbaugh. Others in both political and athletic circles also lashed out at Limbaugh's comments.
is pretty fucking retarded. Thx for the pandering, Wesley Clark! Don't you have actual issues to be worried about?

i agree that it got out of hand.

but considering the amount of shit the guy has talked about Democrats for over a decade, they saw an opportunity, and plunged the knives in. Maybe if he hadnt been such an asshole for his whole career people would have let this slide.

i dont think he should have been fired (and i dont think he was - in fact i think ESPN wanted this sort of thing from him except not about race), but i do have a problem with what he said.

some (African American) caller on sports talk radio here in Atlanta called up and went off on Michael Irvin and Tommy Jackson for not saying something on the show about it. He called them "House Negroes"! LOL
anyway the show hosts (who are also black) thought that was pretty awesome.

Actually I found myself agreeing with him on a lot of things but I swear I didn't even hear him say anything about race. I guess I wasn't really listening too closely. Doesn't he remember what happened to Jimmy the Greek?
