FUCK OLD FUCKING DRIVERS

So I was on my way back from school, when all of a sudden a white Benz just tried to cross THREE LANES of traffic to get to a motherfucking carwash. He didnt see my car going 45mph 25 feet down the road. So a wham, bam, and i was making out with my steering wheel. Airbag popped and most likely saved me from getting seriously injured, and my lovable seatbelt was ripped from the side column. 85 year old popped out and wondered what happened. My car is totalled and his is more than likely totalled too. He was a little stunned to find out it was his fault.

At least he had insurance. And thankfully no one was injured.
This doesn't go without a sense of irony, however. 5 minutes after the wreck his airbag popped.

I bet you would take that free tiburon now.
That sucks though....
If you can get a new car by Oct 31st a lotof the dealers are doing good cash back deals and financing.
Mitsubishi offered:
5 years 0%
7 years 1.9%
Or $3000 cash back.
Dodge is offering like $2,000 cash back on Neons...and some off all thier other cars too.
So far everyone I look at expires Oct 31st though.
The suckiest thing is YOUR insurance will probably go up, even though it was the old fucker that caused it.

Fuck buying a new car. Save your money, and get a low-miles used car.

I've had some wrecks, one was an old lady who was in the right lane on a 2 lane one-way street and she turned left. She tried to blame me, luckily some patrolling security guards saw it, and we happened to have mutual friends.
Old people in general driving piss me off sometimes, but sometimes I try to reign in the anger/rage/whatever because they are just old people. We all seem to be angry at people all the time, so I try to cut the old person some slack. Old people arent bad people, they are just old. Probably about the only time I try to cut people slack, but good to do it once in a while.
Edit: Sorry you totalled your car, one wreck where some old people rear-ended me took months to get paid off. They kept trying to get out of it and such. Hopefully you end up with a better one.

Yeah, just encourage bloodsucking lawyers & opprotunistic behavoir.
ok, you are probably just kidding. Sad thing is, a good number of people in this country would seriously do that kind of thing.

Gah that is the biggest pain in the ass ever. I hope you have far better luck than I did, don't let the insurance claim handler guy screw you over (if its Allstate they go out of their way to try!). I too had my car totalled by a very aged lady who moved into the left turn lane but didnt brake and hit me at a good 45-55 mph. It was the most aggravating situation I've ever had to deal with to this day and I am sorry to hear you have to go through this and wish you the best of luck!

Why wouldn't it be? If he honestly didn't see anyone there, why not go across three lanes? Do you think he intentionally came across all 3 lanes to ram him or something?

His insurance is with Firemans Corp. Never heard of them myself. The guy was a real asshole on the phone though. I will be getting a rental car and as far as I am concerned they can take as long as they want. Just as long as I have a decent rental.
As for suing them, I don't know. It all depends on how much i get for my car and if it sufficent to pay off my old one and put something down on a new one. As long as I basically go back to normal, just with a different car, that is all I am concerned with. I really don't want to sue, but if I am going to have to make due with no car, and a shitload of debt, then I will.

Zam, even from this great distance... over the Internet even I get the feeling that your neck is beginning to hurt, you are having trouble sleeping at night because of this and you keep dreaming about white things jumping out at you as you wake up in a cold sweat.
IF your neck or anything else hurts at ALL, hell even if they don't go see a Dr. before you sign anything and tell him what happened. I'm not saying you should sue the old guy but hey, I bet you would look good in a Merc yourself

j/k. Serously though if you sign the waver saying you won't sue and 6 months later something comes up you are screwed. Just check things out first to make sure you are ok.

Important thing is that you are okay. Next important is obtaining transport.
Oh and for all you fuckers that think crossing 3 lanes straight and hitting someone is an accident/honest mistake, it is dumb SOB's like you that cause most accidents. You should never do three lanes at once, you lane change, check for clear, then make the next change.

Exactly.
No one was hurt & unless he was driving recklessly (haven't heard), any lawsuit from this would be nothing more than a pathetic, bloodsucking method of making some quick $$$

It wasn't intentional. Who would waste a Benz on a Mitsubishi? On the turnaround, I got a chuckle knowing I took out a Benz. Like I said, I won't sue unless I end up in the negative in this whole situation.

sue the fucking hell out of him for no other reason than his insurance rates will skyrocket and hopefully there will be one less dumb old fucker clogging up the roads with his oldness. if you're worried about looking opportunistic then donate all your winnings to charity or something, but do it for society.

If the guy was driving a Benz he should have more then enough insurance to cover any potential problem. If he does not then the courts will rule in your favor almost always. Personally if your not hurt and do the whiplash thing, I have a big problem with you and anyone that thinks its 'ok' to do it.

That won't work, old people with money could care less about insurance rates. I say put a sign that says AARP Parking on all boat ramps and see how many cars we have floating in our lakes and oceans.

Not everyone who complains about whiplash fakes it... I was extremely stiff and sore for a month after the wreck, I could only sleep on the couch (sitting upright) and had to wear a brace. Before my accident I could never get my neck to pop by simply turning my head and now it is constant. If I were a bit smarter then I would have gotten treatment, but at the time I had no health insurance and couldn't afford to pay for the treatments and be reimbursed by the insurance company. So I was forced to close the medical side of my case without recieveing proper treatment. To this day I regret that

So definitely make sure you are physically ok.

High Point Road.
I am told whiplash doesn't take effect until later, so we will see. I have never been in an accident before, so this is pretty new to me. I do have a splitting headache though. I will more than likely go to my doctor tonight or tomorrow just for certainty.

Dude, if your head hurts like that, get to the Dr. ASAP. You may have a bleed in your head, and not even know it. My ex-roommates sister fell of her horse, & hit her head. She felt a little shook up & her head hurt, but otherwise OK. She never bothered going to the doctor, despite the persitant headache through out two days. She died three days later.

You should go to get your neck X-rayed on his tab at the minimum. Sometimes a vertabrae can have a tiny fracture or misaligned disc that you won't feel and a casual exam won't detect, but could flare up weeks later.
I'm NOT advocating suing him (unless his insurance tries to fuck you), but you NEED to get yourself examined.
EDIT: Just read your latest post, and you need to see a doctor ASAP. Do not wait until tomorrow, as going to sleep with a possible concussion is a fucking bad idea.

oh my, i am tired, but can't tell if that is from the wreck or the 4 hours of sleep, or both! I'm not that tired and will go to a doctor whenever my roomate gets back.

i'm actually surprised you didn't go straight to the hospital. or that the paramedics didn't encourage you to go to the hospital. it's smart to get checked out after a wreck as severe as yours sounds.
the two wrecks i've been involved in i got checked out right after, just in case. you can really screw yourself if you find out you have a serious injury a couple of days later. it makes it harder to prove that the injury was a direct result of the accident, and insurance companies will kick and scream about paying for anything. :/
weird side note - in arizona when you apply for a driver's license they issue you one that doesn't expire until you're 65 years old. you don't have to go back for an eye test or anything until you're retirement age. when i lived in phoenix my license expired in 2042. whenever i'd travel or after i moved people would do triple takes carding me for liquor. it looks fake, i'd get a lot of questions about it.

Man, what a mess! Very glad that you are OK though!!! From your description, it sounds like you at least have some mild riprash(sic)..Best to get that looked at, as others have suggested.
Good luck on all the messy insurance details and whatnot!

It is, you have to wait 100ft to change another lane or something.
