everytime i try to log into eq i get a window that pops up and says No 3D Devices Found do i have to buy them and put them in? or is there some way i can download them?? need some help on your input thanx

do you have a video card in your computer? if so, is it properly installed? have you gotten the most recent drivers for it?

Video Card shouldnt be an issue, i have run EQ on a comp with no vid card... world looked like absolute SHIT though, didnt lag cause it was basically all 1-5 color textures per wall and crap~

well about a year ago i could play eq on this computer and now i just cant is there any way to get latest drivers or find out what my video card is

I think EQ no longer works in Windows 95 / 98, i may be wrong, maybe it was only 95..

Yep, you can buy new Operating Systems, they arent hard to install, Newest one out (For windows) is XP, its a good operating system AFTER you download all of the updates from microsoft. http://www.windowsupdate.com/

well if you do buy xp, get all the updates like security patches and such, but with service packs, i wouldnt recomend getting anything past sp1.

You probably need a newer directX.

Man, this happened to me once, I forget what I did to fix it....and I had win98se at the time...but that was years ago.

Knowing me though, I probably just copied my necessary files across the network including my e-mail settings and reformatted my HD etc....I'm not too attached to stuff on my hard drive.

To the poster though, to narrow it down....when was the last time you played EQ? If it's been a while then Nez is probably right...I'd install a newer version of DirectX 9a is the latest.

EQ runs fine on win 98, but not on 95 anymore I dont think. There was a bug like that a while ago now around about the time LoY came out I think, but I dont remember what the cure was. I know there was one though, and it was pretty simple. I suggest doing a search on "no 3d devices" here, ign, and in the tech forum on eqlive at everquest.com That should find the post about it and the solution. Possibly in the developers corner archives too.
