Please don't move to cooking forum, not looking for a recipe =)

I just bought a cheap ass frozen pizza at the store, and as I was eating it I noticed something that gave me a flashback. It's some kind of spice that looks like a tiny black sunflower seed with a bit of white on it. I noticed it WAY back when the junior high pizzas were made on a giant pan and cut into rectangles and served to us. First time I saw it, I thought some birdseed fell on my pizza. Tastes peppery, what is it?

God, I cant think of the name, but it is a breath freshener \ seasoning thing. If you collect all those off an entire pizza you can eat it after and it makes your breath smell just a bit better!

Anise or fennel....I detest that shit. It is often used in sausage.

I'm pretty sure that's fennel seed. Especially if it was used on a pizza with sausage on it. It could be caraway though....

So no, the seed is actually Caraway
Aromatics and Flavors
Caraway has a very pungent aroma. It has a bit of bitterness and can be slightly spicy. The aroma can be most noted when the seeds are toasted and ground.

Culinary Uses
Caraway is used heavily in Germany and France for Breads, Sausage, Soups and Sauces.

It's a little nugget of pure, unadulterated evil.

Yup, caraway seed. I use it on the pizzas I make at home.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of it either.

I mean I won't try and rub it off, but I'd prefer without.
