Worst team in football

Who is it?
Top two candidates are probably the Bengals and the Cardinals. I'm saying the Cards:
The Lions rang up 42 points on them
They start Emmitt Smith, Jeff Blake, Anquin Boldin (big game aside) and another collection of nobodies
And their big offseason acquisition is Dexter "one big game is my lottery" Jackson.
This team will be lucky to win a game this season.

I don't think Saints are the worst team. They had the highest scoring offense in the NFC last year, I wouldn't count them out after only one week.
My superbowl prediction is bucs vs. bills.

Worst team: Bengals (until Palmer is ready to take over)
Runner up would have to go to Bears or Ravens

Chargers are pretty bad too....

The Bengals will be the worst team until such point that Mike Brown dies or is forced out or the team is disbanded and replaced with 55 blind female midgets.

I don't know that I could vote for either team as the worst in football, but did anyone watch the Browns vs. Colts on Sunday? Jesus Christ that was the most boring fucking game ever.
And the Lions are back this year, baby! Sylvus' preseason projection had them winning 8 games, only 7 more to go.

I am a huge Browns fan so, I am probably a little biased on that game. That game wasn't boring, it was just a fucking battle. It really was a defensive game for two teams that supposedly had NO defenses and two of the best offenses in the AFC. I hate how it ended, but I thought it was a good game.

When driving home from the Bengals game sunday afternoon, I couldnt believe how utterly pathetic they performed. They were terrible in every aspect of the game. By far the worst team in the league. Then I watched Chicago play and a new winner jumped to the forefront.
Chicago bad.
P.S. The Bengals have the #1 rated pass defense in the league. How can they be the worst team with that stat?

Because Jon Kitna is their starting QB? Because the offensive line really is offensive? Because Girl Scouts can rush for 150 yards against their defense? Because it was Jake Plummer throwing against them and not an NFL QB?
Watching Chicago play with Kordell should give you an indication of how good the Steelers really were. They went 13-3 2 years ago with him as their QB....and they even won 4 games last year with him in. Scary to think how good they would have been with a real QB.

I think we need to edit this forum's rules to state that "Football" refers to American Football and "Soccer" refers to that game that everyone else in the world plays. If only because the majority of visitors at the site are Americans. Sorry. =P

You can make all the rules you like and us followers of real football will ignore them
I'm j/k. It's the first time I've visited the forum in ages and I just couldn't resist. I'm kinda hoping Salis will see it.
I'd love to join in the American Football chats but since they stopped showing it on non-satellite TV over here I haven't kept up. Plus, seeing as the first year I watched the sport was 1985, I'm a Bears fan. So the sport may as well just not exist for me

Because it was Jake Plummer throwing against them and not an NFL QB?
So which is worse? The Bengals pretending to be team, or Jake plummer pretending to be a quarterback? Or Denver paying Jake Plummer $40 million to pretend to be a quarterback?
Watching Chicago play with Kordell should give you an indication of how good the Steelers really were.
or it gives you an indication of how stupid and bullheaded Cowher was in continueing to go with Kordell for so long. He'd still be their starting QB this year if they hadnt of lucked into Tommy Maddox last year

I won't count out the Bengals yet! They sucked hardcore last sunday but I'm going to take another look at how they do this sunday. Chad Johnson made an amazing play for a TD in that game.
Cardinals are my team. They've got serious issues in the secondary but their offense won't be too bad this year. They will suck all year but should be fun to watch as they can score just enough points to force a high scoring affair that's always entertaining.
Until further notice, I'm going with a Seahawks/Bucs superbowl.
The Bills look solid though in the AFC.

Kinda hard to have a Superbowl with two NFC teams

Jake will be fine. He got his wedding jitters out of the way. Shanahan planned the game around Portis and reverses. Jake loked terrible, given....With week 2, he has a chance to shine. Lets face it, SD is really fucking bad.
Prediction:
Portis: 25 attempts, 143 yards 2TD
Plummer: 21/34 294 yards 1TD 0INT
Rod Smith: 8 receptions - 104 yards
Denver 34 Chargers 13

There will be one hell of a dogfight in the AFC this year. So I won't make any bold predictions. However, in the NFC I can make such predictions, and will. Lions to the playoffs.
You heard it here first.
