I work three hours making a midterm test on my laptop last weekend. Something happens to my step-daughter and I leave the work UNSAVED to fix the problem. Several hours later I return to the laptop and forget that about the UNSAVED part. Unplug it, stick it in the case, and forget about it until the next day.
The batteries are shot, so of course they go dead. Fortunately, MSWord is set to auto save. I open MSWord the next day and get one of those annoying Microsuck prompts that all us computer *experts* hate and I immediately click NO to get it out of my way. Who the hell does Bill think he is to ask me twice about everything I do on my computer? I am not one of those idiots who needs that kind of special attention!
Well, the prompt was to use the lastest auto-saved version or revert back the original version. The original version...you know, the one without the three hours of work.
*ALWAYS* save your work often.
*ALWAYS* read the prompts.
Even if you are a Super Genius like me.

Yeah, that sucks goat ass. I remember back in College, I was pretty much pissed off at an entire floor of assholes. I broke into the power box for their floor in the dorm and killed the power. Beauty of it is that it was mid term week

That is the only fight I have ever run from in my life. Something about 20 some pissed off people wanting your head that is intimidating

Just lost an hours work on my animation when the thing froze on me. It's redone, but it's wasted time and god damned annoying. I usually save pretty regularly, but sometimes you just get into the swing of things and forget about it.
And ya, really, no shit. You fucking twit.

Same thing happened to me the day of the big blackout... If there's the slightest hint of a raincloud in the sky I will save every 30 seconds, but on that day it was a nice day outside and I wasn't expecting anything, didn't think about it. Boom! It was like 4:20 and I hadn't saved the whole day I was there. =(
I feel your pain.

After teaching software products to corporate students for 5+ years, control/command-s is my mantra.

Woo! I feel a Macintosh vs. Windows derail coming on! Though unless you've used OS 10.2, don't come bitching about Macs.

Hmmm, reminds me of when one of our replication IIS boxes died and decided to delete a day's worth of ASP programming from the active box... never fun. :/
