I drink alone. Not often, but sometimes. Not often because I usually have drinking partners. But if I'm home alone, and have nothing to get up for, I drink alone and play EQ. How about you guys?

Never, there is ALWAYS someone with me anytime I would ever feel like having a drink.. being a very light drinker for the most part (i think i've had 3 beers in the last month) its prolly a moot point..

Now. if i wasn't married and had occasion to be home alone often that might be a different story..

There's no point to drinking alone really...

I'll have a drink or 2 by myself - usually some wine while I cook or whatnot. I don't tend to get drunk alone though.

I do occasionally. I dont get drunk alone, but I will have a couple drinks alone every once and a while.

i always drink with friends, though i don't drink often--my irish friend always gets on my case to have some mixed vodka with him though :/

Add an option for "Still refusing to ever drink again."

I don't drink very often. I've actually only drank on like two or three occasions. They have all been alone and they have all been for the sake of celebrating something I have felt was worth celebrating.

Drink with the gang,friends,what have you, finish off the rest of the case alone. (like im going to let good brew wait for another party)

No, although I did drink alone one time.

I try and limit my drinking to parties of atleast 4 people, and less then 3x a week.

It's just a rule of thumb I made up because my dad drinks more then enough for both of us if you know what I mean.

donna drink much at all myself, the underage bit makes it a bit difficult =P

Sometimes I will drink alone but only when I am playing EQ, Barbequeing or watching Football...

Here's a clue...some folks actually prefer soft drinks to alcoholic ones. I like the taste of some alcoholic drinks as well, but I generally prefer soft drinks. When I do drink, it's always with friends and, since a friend's going away party a few years ago, usually wine/beer/mild mixed drinks.

Truth be told, since I joined the league of starving students a year ago I really haven't had cash to spare on the liquor.

Who ever said that you can only drink for fun? I drink Beer, Wine and mixed drinks because I enjoy the taste. In moderation alcohol can also help mellow out an otherwise pissy day.

I think I can count the number of times I've gotten drunk alone on one hand - that's for the entire 15 year career of drinking.

Drinking a beer or a glass of wine with dinner is different, although I hate leaving a bottle of wine open...

You see, you need a friend to govern your activities. All of these are bad ideas and can be easily squashed when you drink in a group.

I feel uncomfortable drinking when people are around. If the doorbell rings, I'll shotgun a beer real quick before answering.

I drink to make other people interesting and that includes myself when I'm alone. Ever try to hold a conversation with yourself in the mirror while sober? It's much more fun when your voice is slurred like Johnny Depp's character from Pirates of the Caribbean (and are dressed up like that too).

To answer the question, I'll have one drink from time to time but not often as it will usually put me to sleep if I'm just sitting there playing EQ and my guild already knows I have trouble staying awake if a raid goes late into the night : )

why not drink alone, you're catching a buzz right? drinking socially is ok, but just like any drug, i can do them alone and be fine, no one to bother me or change my environment

From three months ago in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn: a girl walks in and a friend of mine I call Mr. Scotch (already hammered) sees her enter but notices that her girlfriend is not by her side...

Mr. Scotch: Hey baby how are you? (Take note that I don't remember much of the exact conversation since I'm kinda wasted myself...)

Girl: Going great (she grabs a drink.)

Mr. Scotch (looks around the room for about five seconds): Where's your friend with the big chin?

About five people start breaking out laughing and I think one of them was shedding tears for 3 minutes

there is definitely a difference between drinking alone, and getting drunk alone. Although, I have come home on Friday afternoon, fired up EQ and had a beer or twelve....
