I was wondering if there were any other fans of those two over on the boards... I've seen the trailer, I just *can't* wait for it to go live. Although I can't claim to have seen all the Jason movies, I have seen all the Freddys ( yes, I own the stupidly expensive deluxe case with 7 movies+ bonus dvd ), and I know which one I'll be cheering for

ESTRO! HUGZ!
I've been waiting for this movie to come out for 10 years or so!
I was thinkin of the idea to bring both Jason and Freddie in the same movie after Terror 2 or so! Can't remember what Friday 13th Episode was actual at that time though!
Can't say that i am a Friday 13th or Terror Elm Street fan per se, since it was sooo long ago since i saw the movies, but i saw all of them when they were new.
The announcement of Jason VS Freddy brought back OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of childhood memories thats for sure!
I vote for Jason of course, since me and some childhood friends made a Jason spin-off movie when we were younger!
We actually got people to believe there was a real axe-murderer in the neighbourhood and they called the police. It also was a headline in our local paper about this! Axe murderer stalks the vicinity of some sorts.
I was wearing a hockeymask and used a firemans axe, and we had prepared OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of planks (which we had cut in the center and then taped together with invisible tape) which we used to smash on eachother etc.
Oh the good ol days!
Anyways, i've been looking forward to this movie for many years and i was happy when they finally announced that they were going to make Jason Vs Freddy.

yeah there was a thread about this if you want to find it.
Personally I want to see a horror movie royal rumble crossover at the end for a finale. Like 20 horror bad guys all go at it in total carnage and chaos...I want to see someone punt that fucker chuckie, and let the chainsaw loose again...
*shrug* i think it will be disappointing, but i'm somewhat looking forward to it.

YEAH!
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre fellow Leatherface as well as Michael Myers from Halloween should be in the movie as well!
Add Chuckie, The dolls from PuppetMaster etc etc and we will have a Chaotic Mix of Mayhem and destruction!
Tag-Team fights, Royal Rumble, Horrormoviestar Deathmatch etc etc
Bring forth the Destruction!

That would be great!!! Though most of the chucky movies looked like this:
Good Guy/Chucky
To stay on topic, I have been a fan of these movies all my life, always watching them when they came out with new ones or renting old ones with friends. As corny as they plan to make this movie, Im still excited that its going to come out!

Exactly Nilaman!
These movies don't have to be good in the story / acting department, but i will see them nonetheless!
Brings back so many memories and nostalgia!
Friday 13th, Terror Elm, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw, Pumpkinhead, The first Hellraiser movie, Amityville etc etc the list can made be very long!

All I want to know is....WHERE the fuck is Michael Myers!? He would kick ass over Freddy & Jason! He gets a 100% intimadation bonus just for having a hockey mask!

Nice hairdo there Skogen!
Yes, Michael Myers was an interesting character with potential.
But one thing about horror-movies today...
They just don't do Horror-movies as well as they did in the 80's in my opinion.
It's been a long time since i saw a real good horror-movie.
Then again, what i might think be a "good" horror-movie may differ OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS from what many think.
I used to enjoy the normal horrormovies all of us have seen back then, Friday, Terror, Halloween, Hellraiser, Thing etc..
but i also liked Reanimator, Night of the Living Dead and all the italian zombie and gore movies OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS hehe
The Beyond is an old favorite! Too bad they don't make movies like this anymore ...

Louisiana 1927. As the thunder clashes and the cool summer mist fills the night air, tiny boats can be seen in the distance carrying groups of torch-bearing vigilantes towards the shoreline of the Seven Doors Hotel. When the mob arrives, they quickly make their way through the lobby and up the stairs to Room 36. As they storm in, fear and ignorance of the unknown force them to brand its occupant (Antoine Saint-John) a warlock. Brushing aside the warning of a supposed madman, the mob drags the poor man down into the basement where he is tortured with quicklime and crucified. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to them, their evil deeds have been performed over one of the seven gates of hell mentioned in the Book of Eibon.
Fast forward to 1981, Liza Merril (Catrionia McCall) has recently inherited an old hotel from a deceased uncle and decides to move in, hoping to change her life. As the renovation begins, strange and bizarre things start happening to the hired help. A painter falls from atop a scaffold when he sees a set of ghostly eyes peering out at him. Later while searching in the basement for the source of a massive leak, Joe "the Plumber" (Giovanni De Nava), pays the ultimate price when he inadvertently cracks open the doorway to hell.
As time goes by, Liza is befriended by a local doctor (David Warbeck) and they both struggle to understand the macabre events going on around them. Moments later, a mysterious blind girl (Sarah Keller), who seems strangely haunted by the past, appears on the scene to warn Liza of the danger, but is she too late??? Only later when John finds the Book of Eibon is the truth finally confirmed. (“Woe be unto him who opens one of the seven gateways to hell, because through that gateway evil will invade the world”). As the film draws to its frightful conclusion, all hell begins to break loose (literally) and John and Liza are left to do battle with hordes of zombies. Will they be able to escape THE BEYOND?????

Oh and i guess everyone knew that Freddy(Robert Englund) looked like this

I thought that movie was called "Seven Gates of Hell". I have the DVD, worst movie I have ever seen. Crappy ending, only cool part was with the blind chick's dog...wow freaky.

Haha I loved Seven Gates of Hell! That should tell you that my taste of a "good" horror-movie is a bit different than the mainstream!
Fulci, Romero, Argento, all those weird italian gore and zombie-movie makers made movies that i really liked in the 80's!
I also enjoyed the more normal horrormovies like Friday, Terror etc but hearing the name Seven Gates of Hell really brings back good ol nostalgic memories of the 80's to me!
You want to keep that DVD Nilaman? I'll be happy to buy it from ya!

It bothered me so much, not only was there very little to do about the 1 gate of hell, but it didnt even mention the other 7. I think they have it for like $4 in FYE or any other store.

Kwon you have great taste in sick films

The Beyond, Zombie Flesh Eaters, love all that shit
Freddie vs Jason sounds like some WWF/N-Sync crossover gayness to me. Just needs the 4-barrel shotgun dude to turn up from Phantasm and put them all straight!

Actually, i enjoy the mainstream horror-movies as well, Friday,Terror,Texas Chainsaw etc
It's just that i had contact with the italian (by many considered weird movies, by others real horror-movies) gore-movies before i saw any of the normal mainstream ones.
I think i was 9 years when i saw my first horrormovie and i was hooked!
Fulci, Argento and Romero are considered Masters of Horror and Gore, as well as Barker, Hooper, Carpenter, Cronenburg etc
I think i've seen almost all of the mostly known work of Fulci's(Gates of Hell,Beyond,Zombie), Romeros(Day of the Dead,Dawn of the Dead,Night of the Living Dead etc) and Argentos(Phenomena,Suspiria,Opera etc).
No matter if the acting was bad, these movies intrigued me, could it be because of such a young age, 9-10? Who knows!
I haven't seen any horror-movie even reminding of these old classics in years, so mentioning Seven Gates of Hell, Jason, Freddy and the rest brings back nostalgic memories from when i was 9 and a few years after that. A very wonderful timeperiod in my life!

Freddy Krueger > all. He's bound to kick that mindless automaton that is Jason's sorry ass!
I mean. At least Freddy actually speaks and has a sense of humour ( albeit a dark and very cheesy ones ). Jason = me see, me kill ( and that's why we love him

) . The trailer looks really good, too, have I mentioned that?

Freddy got Jase in the acting and one-line joke departmen that's for sure.
But Good Ol Jase got the mass!
I'm sure Jason won't disappoint and will kick that skinny Krueger back to dreamland where he belongs!
I'm votin for Jason!

Aside from taking bets on whos gonna kill who, I don't really expect the movie to be about those 2 killing eachother, but more or less who can kill the most people. A contest.
I saw the trailer a few times, and Freddy(who Im cheering for) doesn't look like he used to. It disappoints me.
Also, about those cheesy one liners, the first few Nightmare on Elm Streets did not have them. It only seemed to happen in the crappier of the movies, and around that point Freddy wasn't out to scare as much as he was out to poke fun at the other popular movies of the time.

Yeah it's called Nightmare on Elm Street but here in Sweden those movies were called
'Terror på Elm Street'
So i called em Terror Elm Street, at least everyone knew what movies i was talking about!

I dunno. Freddy should win in the showdown, but body count wise, Jason eats all hands down.
I mean, Freddy always has to kill in new, dramatic ways that take 5-10 minutes a pop.
Jason though, if there is less than 5 kills in a 15 minute time span, something is horribly wrong, and that is during the plot parts of the movie

Freddy

Weapon Four 10" Blades
Kills 30 and counting
Films 7
Jason
Height 6'3"

Who will win? So far it's Jason 53 % and Freddy 47 %
