Something is dying in the machine - the colo is waiting on there batch of replacement machines to throw our drives into.

Our drives are good, our backups are good - culprits in order of likelihood being bad are memory/nic/mobo/power supply.

Hopefully this gets fixed soon - also in less than a week we get our OC-48 (versus the dual t1's we've been struggling along on) and that should improve things as well.

Real sorry about the downtime everyone, I'm yelling loud enough for everyone, so hopefully this gets fixed soon.

If you don't mind sharing this info. I'm very curious.

Where do you host this msgboard? Do you piggy back it off something at your workplace?

Are you in the service providing business?

How did you manage set it all up?

BTW considering quality of this ad-free msgboard, Pyrella I don't think any of us Veeshanites are upset with a little downtime every now and then.

Information should be free!

We host it with http://www.servercove.com (they had an OC-48 when we signed up, 2 days after we got the box (2 days before we switched from the old to the new) there bandwidth provider went bankrupt). We have our own fully dedicated machine (AMD 2000+, half a gig of ram, 2 40 gig HD's (1 is daily backup) information on uptime and drive status and such at http://veeshanvault.org/sysinfo )

Are you in the service providing business?
No, I'm just a network/hardware/software monkey
How did you manage set it all up?
Al ot of help from Sylvus and Visual Echo and cyberpleasure[tm] from Xouqoa. More importantly from all the donations everyone sent in which made it financially possible. ( http://veeshanvault.org/donate.htm for the list of donaters )
