I heard that they were going to release an 'R' rated DVD of LotR in November. Not for nudity or anything just more blood and gore. I heard this months ago but I don't remember where and if that source is valid or not.

In November they are releasing a 4 disc special edition or something like that of LotR. Has more stuff added. Check it out at their site.

Yeah I think I answered my own question too.

This lists them all as well. I think I am going to wait for the extra 30 minutes of footage re-edited back into the film.

The 30 extra minutes footage are selections of "Hobbit Girls Gone Wild"
(according to Conan)

I am doing my best to hold out until November. November heralds the release of Spiderman on DVD as well. It will be a good month.

I bought the 2 disk set yesterday and will get the 4 disk set in November. The 2 disk set is completely different from the 4 disk set, though I will not likely watch the movie version from the 2 disk set once I have the extra 30 mins. However, unless I misread the web description, the "extras" disk in the 2 disk set is not material that will be repeated in the 4 disk set. The stuff I have watched on the "extras" disk so far has been very cool (especialy the CGI part of the making of The Two Towers segment).
