I saw Zhwan on Letterman a while back and was surprised that I actually liked it a lot. I thought Billy Corgan was the reason I despised the Smashing Pumpkins... apparently not.

'Gish' came out my freshman year in college, and i really loved that, and i loved most of Siamese Dream, and had a great time going to see Smashing Pumpkins when they were on a club tour in 1992 or something. One of the best concerts I ever saw.

anyways, hated all their stuff since, cause mostly i thought Billy Corrigan was trying to cast himself as this poet/jackass/emotionally complex dipshit and his chief methodology of achieving this end was a combination of trite lyrics and really lame melodies.

anyways, that being said, i listen to the album several times a week at work, even though there are several songs on it i think are terrible.

Radio Iodine mix cd. I'd say the actual album but I found out about them too late and I can't seem to find any of their cds anywhere.

Great CD...very talented band. I saw them and Zwan back in December...both bands truly out due themselves in a live setting. It would appear that studios "cramp their styles", if you know what I mean.

i got pretty hammered that night, and my wife had the distinct pleasure of picking me up from the bar and listening to me ramble at a high volume all the way home. As above, i am ultimately thinking of her, and i dont want to deny these special moments that she and I share together, you see.

"Beautiful Lumps of Coal" by Plumb.

Her voice haunts me. Very pop sounding but just an awesome CD. Plus, I am a sucker for a great singing voice on a woman.

"14 Shades of Grey" by Staind.

Aaron Lewis' voice is very unique. Some interesting and catchy songs on this latest effort.

And then there are the scads of Trance/Techno/electronic mixes I pick up. These keep me focused and going throughout the day.

Just been introduced to lots of new stuff this last few weeks. Still sifting through which one I prefer most.

I think I really like the Elliot Smith one though, he is fairly depressing if you aren't in the right mood sometimes, but he has an amazing voice and I like the acousticy sound.

Apparantly he stabbed himself in the chest twice and killed himself, not exactly the sorta person you should listen to when depressed, just ask him!

Lamb of God - Ashes of the Wake

I skip around a lot. But the CD that I have probably been listening to the most the last couple weeks is Inspiration by Kelley Hunt (couple sample tracks available at http://www.kelleyhunt.com/ which are good, although not my favorites on the CD). With honorable mention going to C.J. Chenier's Big Squeeze.

This week it's Blast Tyrant by Clutch.

Is that the new one Markalus? I have heard it's quite different from their earlier ones...I heard they actually tried in this one.

I heard one of the songs, it was fairly heavy and cool.

Check them out. Along the lines of Air and Sigur Ros, mellow electronic with some creepy female vocals, really good.

Aslanna or any other Tori fans, your opinion on her latest, the Beekeeper? I think it's decent, certainly better than Scarlet's Walk, but most of my friends hate it.

Gwen Stefani is being dissed on this thread! OK, maybe the entire album isn't good but "What Are You Waiting For?" is a good song. Gwen's done some good work with No Doubt. She may look like a crack ho at times but she also has many other looks and you might use the phrase, "cleans up nicely" when referring to her. : )

Any song that has the line, "take a chance you stupid ho" repeated throughout the song is a winner in my book.

Beekeeper isn't bad. Not sure I like it more than Scarlet's Walk though. Will have to listen to them both and see how I feel. Been awhile since I've listened to SW. I'm glad her lyrics are getting more 'back to reality' though. Some of her songs on earlier stuff (after Little Earthquakes) is just too bizarre. Just say no to drugs.

As far as the solo Gwen Stefani stuff... Bleh. If I'm listening to the radio and it comes on I hit Mute until it's over. Any album with a song that spells out 'bananas' multiple times just sucks.

I guess it comes down to one song I like "What are you waiting for" and I'll be keeping that in my top 120-150 song playlist for awhile.
