Motzart = Mozart
Showpan = Chopin
All of the previously mentioned composers are great places to start...Wagner is also an amazingly powerful composer, those his themes are a bit distasteful, they do reflect the German umvelt of the time...
Franz Liszt, Pachalbel
I would recommend working your way from Classical Period through Romantic Period etc to get a feel for how music and composition evolve over time. And be sure and work from shorter pieces in a period through longer pieces in a period. Sitting down to an entire symphony can be offputting (and throw you right off a composer you might love if introduced slowly to him).
