Anyone hear of this?

Supposedly KEI, BOA, etc... will no longer stick on low level folks, grouped or not.

Can you imagine the wails of anguish if this goes live?

That sucks. I don't mind buffing people but it will be a pain in the ass to break out lower level spells.

I don't think this is needed. I hadn't seen too many people bitching about it the past year.

Mixed feelings on it.

I can understand how some people don't like the lower levels and want to level to 50+ asap.

BUT

There are too many useless idiots who have little idea on how to play their class well and have shitty gear who just scream up in levels.

It slows down legit leveling but it pisses off the twinkers.

IMO, with KEI and Virtue/Aego, leveling in EQ is just far too easy.... even without powerleveling and uber buffs, I took my bard to 50 in about 3 weeks. 6-7 weeks total and I'm nearly 60, have my epic and 2 shards away from my VT key. I spent a lot of time in 'off the beaten track' zones which was a lot of fun.

the whining on the Sony boards about lower level twinks having KEI and BOA that they the newb's can't afford so they can't get groups is making the old whineplay boards looking great.

The biggest argument they used was that it allowed classes who rely on their mana pool to not learn how to manage their mana properly. its a good argument i guess.

I know i'll be laughing the day it goes live and all the people that fail to read the patch message go pay for their crack and the chanter casts the spell and it doesn't take hold..

to me its one of those who cares changes i guess... if i need to buff one of my twinks with my cleric no big deal to use the lower level spells... i'll just have to go quest that temperance spell or whatever it is for the lowbies.

Too true.
When I leveled up my cleric to 29 (to imbue black pearls), I always had KEI. Her meditate skill was complete shit because I never had to med. I just nuked, melee'd and tossed an occasional heal... When I hit 26ish, and was stuck without KEI, I felt useless as I was always OOM.
