My brother and I used to make our own Cinnamon sticks and sell them at school. It was quite an enterprising little project. We kept making them hotter and hotter till in the end, the principal made us quit selling them becuase they were begining to harm the students. They asked for it,...supply and demand you know. Scary thing is,...these days my parents probably would be sued for that.

Yeah most of that candy you can buy in Canada.

You miss a lot of it because there was a huge candy embargo in the late 80s or early 90s where American candy companies lobbied government to put huge tarriffs on european and canadian candy companies so they could no longer compete with nestle and hershey etc, and sell it at a profit.

R.I.P. Hubba Bubba.

Grape Hubba Bubba is what I learned bubble-blowing on. Man, it was my favorite. Strawberry was good too...

When I was in junior high (1986-87), there was a neighborhood candy store. Guy who ran it was like 95 years old but he had everything dirt cheap there. You went in with a dollar and could come out with a lot of little penny candies. He had higher priced candy bars and such too but I seriously doubt he made a profit on it. He lived in the back with his wife. I liked those black cows and hubba bubba was the best. I still rememebr the commercials with cowboy bubble fights hehe.

My little brother would take orders at his elementary school form the kids and charge a markup. It got to the point that he was making more money then the school sponsored fund-raisers because he would undercut their prices. The school ended up outlawing all outside candy sales.

Yes, they still make Hubba Bubba, and we have it here in Canada.

Yeah there is a candy store near me that sells it. I think it is made by Cadbury-Schweppes that pulled all of their candy out of the US after the tarriffs. I don't even know if you can get it everywhere in Canada but you can definitely get it at the british candy shops.

I play softball every summer and hubba bubba is my gum of choice when I'm pitching. 8)

If you PM me your address and what flavors you like I can send you some.
