Hmm... your final for one of your computer science classes was take-home? I swear that could have been taken directly off of one of my final exams, and I probably knew that at one point. Unfortunately that point has long since passed. Good luck!

The answer is a semi trick question, as either would be preferable in a given situation. I think he would rather have you explain why "you" would choose one over the other.

To be quite honest, I know practically nothing about the subject above.
Really I just cut and pasted "Branch Prediction, Finite Registers, and Imperfect Alias Analysis" on a google search and looked until I did learn something
