Lol anyone want to by a detached townhome in Fitchburg, MA? I've had 2 offers fall through so far. Getting kindof old now. Been paying rent in Jersey and Mortgage in MA for the last 4 months. Amusingly, my rent in Jersey is more than my fooking house payment.

Have you considered renting it out, or do you not want the responsibility? Might be a nice way to offset the cost, and once it's paid for you'd have a nice little side income.

I refused to move to Cali for religious reasons. If the earth shakes regularly, it means Somebody don't want j00 living there.

I know where you are coming from, Somali.
We are three weeks from closing on our current house, five weeks from closing on the new one.
I KNOW something is gonna go wrong! AGAIN!
As far as buyers backing out, three words....
CONTRACT
EARNEST MONEY

Always request at least a $1000 earnest money or maybe 3 months of mortgage payments.
I would keep the place personally though. Find a rental contractor in the area to take care of the place. THey will rent it, fix it if needed and take a cut of the rent that is made (20-50% usually). Most of the time they will even pay your mortgage for you too. Rental income is a great money maker especially with mortgage prices so low. It is also a great tax break. 10% of the value can be taken off your tax bill in addition to any mortgage interest you are paying. I currently own three rental properties and my own home and I was able to get my tax percentage down to 9% last year.

Um, you do know that NJ is southwest of MA, not north, right?

But we used to live in Tampa, FL before our corporate overlords assfucked us.
