Ok, new mod in.

At the heart of it is a 'points' system.
Currently they are being called VV's

VV's are currently awarded automatically at 1 per reply, and 2 for a new topic. This is not an invitation to start pharming - if we think you are, we can set your points to -1million and not worry about infringing on your right to express yourself. You can also donate points to one another, do whatever you want, reward someone for a clever flame, etc.

I ran a rule that awarded points based on the above criteria, /pharms, /pie's, and all up til this point - try to keep that stuff down now =P

Currently the things you can use your points on are various effects you can buy at the shop link above.
You can:
get a title
change your name/title color (or get 250 posts and get for 'free')
add name/title glow
add name/title shadow
change someone elses title (verrah expensive)

We can also add items and such, don't know what we'll do with that if anything.

We will be giving all people have donated a flat amount (still TBD) regardless of amount.

Also, we will be able to hold various site related 'contests' (ala BNT) or requests to bring more content to the board, and enhance your work-surfing day.


Any ideas, suggestions, problems, etc - let it be known here.

My "Team Gay" title won't come up

I tried to get my board title back... but it says that it's already taken.

you need to buy the 'privilege' before you can buy your title, forgot to specify that, sorry!

I've posted on some good message boards in the past, but I don't think I've ever been to a board where the mods are constantly working hard to make it a better place for the users.

Festive...I'll have to get around to spending some at some point...

k sort of set up the shop - graphics were quick google finds - don't judge!
added functionality of being able to give items away to others as well.
As far as deleting items you no longer want, you can sell back to the store at a (Currently) 25% loss.

Anyone that can think of some good shops and wants to put a little work in, please send me the name of the shop (i.e. Bakery, Sex Shoppe, whatever) and either links to images, or a zip of the images (80x80 ish or so please), and ill put them in. I will put your name in front of the store i.e. Players Deli, and you'll get some points for your efforts.

Some ideas thrown my way were guilds making little icons that they could buy and give away to other guildies, etc.

Also if anyone wants to make some VV specific items, that would be cool too.

Pretty much anything goes at this point - if this stuff is well received we can come up with new ways of getting points that are automated (lottery, scratch cards, shit like that)

set to 5000 right now til we can figure out a way to prevent abuse - otherwise high point people can cockblock the little person's title =/

and have price set to 100 for facilitating changes people may wish to perform on themselves

Aranuil and I combined our points to change someone's user title and it didn't work! What kind of jiggery-pokery is this! I demand my 5000 points back or there will some heads rolling by the time I get through with it and you can take that right to the bank and smoke it!

If you try to enter a title with an invalid character, it'll still remove your points, and not give you your title.

Too bad, because now that I have a hostage pie my title was going to be cake > pie, but it was a no no

Ok... Got it figured out, methinks.. One thing I'd like to suggest tho, if someone is going to spend 5k VVs to change another person's title, I think that change should be permanent.

Seriously, you mods are excellent. I post on OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of boards, but this is by far the best and my most favorite. Props go out to our completely fucked up and highly disfunctional regular posters as well. I'm very happy to be in this fnord. Er.... community, I mean.
