Death or Life?

I dunno about you guys but death doesn't scare me half as much as life has a potential to.

Life is scary, you have nothing to fear when your dead.

Once you are born you just start slowly dieing.

Sad way to look at it, but true.

Aye, life is a terminal illness with 100% death rate and highly contagious, generally passed on at the time of birth via your parents.

One more reason to hate your mother.

I do not even know about that.
There is a lot of uncertainty in life, being the realm of infinate possiblity.

I'm not afraid of life or death. I'm just afraid of pain. Sometimes I think the best way to go would be lethal injection. You fall asleep and just never wake up.

Problem is, you have to sit on Death Row for a few decades to have a painless death. If you WANT to die painlessly, the government won't allow it...so you have to murder someone.

How odd is that...

i guess i mean that in life i know my surroundings and i feel safe most of the time. in death i dont know what my surroundings are which is what scares me. also the fact of the death itself probebly scares me most cause when i go i don't want to suffor like drowning or burning or something like that. Think that scares me more then either. The how im going to die ;)

I must agree that it is the potential for agonizing pain in between that bothers me...

It's not what death has in store for me that scares me, because I can't help that.

But dying before I do the things that are important to me, before I reach my goals, is what scares me.

As long as it's not some freak car accident or some nuclear war or some bullshit thing like that then I really don't mind.

methamphetamines dont prevent pain (E is one of these). i think the only way to go painless from a massive overdose would be with an opiod.

So some people are afraid of dieing not nessisarily death its self. because once your dead you do not feel, or do you? I guess we will not know in this lifetime.

It's inhuman to not be afraid of death. It is, however, very human to deny that fear.

In Texas, we have the death penalty. And we USE it!

Most states are trying to abolish the death penalty. In Texas, we're putting in an express lane

It was either Ron White or Bill Engvall on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Can't remember for sure which of the two it was and I don't feel like listening to it to make sure.

I think most of us are afraid of two things. The pain we expect to experience while dying and the fear of the unknown. I am afraid of neither but I would like to go painlessly.

At one time it was the possibility of life that made death scary.

There was a guy that apparently remedied the situation.

having experienced near death situations twice, i have a healthy respect for how fragile life is. I try to enjoy each day, and try to be a good person, if possible. Dont forget to call you mom.

Because people are born with the instinct for self preservation.

I committed suicide once.. that sucked.

Most people fear the unknown. Some people find opportunity in it, some find challenge and excitment, some just see the loss of their comfort zone and routine.

Does death scare me? Yes. I'm not a person of any particular faith or beliefs. I don't know if something will happen or if I will just be worm food. I don't obsess over it though: its inevitable.

Does life scare me? At times yes. There are challenges to meet that I haven't faced yet and don't know if I will prove equal to them.

Live life day by day, because that is all you can do.

One wierd thing that makes me think is what happens when you die, there is heaven, hell, and other religions versions of the two. I forget which religion it is, but the one where you are reborn over and over again until you live your life the "correct" way or do that one thing you need to do to "move on" gets me thinking. Because when you are reborn you have no knowledge of your past life, meaning you could have been being reborn over an over for thousands of years. and because of that all you can do is live life one day at a time and enjoy it, because it is all you have.

for me its not so much a fear of death.. as it is a fear of growing old.. of getting to a point of not being able to care for myself, or not knowing who my family is because i've lost my mind. The fear of eating dinner threw a straw. The fear of being a burden on others for years before i die.

Death i can handle.. the thought of looking at my granddaughters and not recognizing them scares the hell out of me.
