It's not freezing, it has to do with starting eq in a window now - it's all buggered up now with the EULA. The trick is to make sure you have NO zpplications running, then when you get to the EULA screen with that problem hit alt-tab once, and it will bring it back into the foreground (even though on the screen it never really left), and you should have full control over your mouse again.

I suppose I had no reason to delete EQ then *gibbers* I was having other computer problems at the time and assumed EQ had been corrupted.

Nope, sorry man, no clue what else would be causing it.

When you say it's frozen is the mouser cursor in the upper left hand corner?

If it is, you might try holding down ALT and tabbing a couple of times to try and bring it up. Otherwise, try updating DirectX to the latest version, as well as your video and sound drives. And if that does work, you'll be on the path to reinstalling!

gemily,

rather than restarting your computer, try hitting the windows key (between ctrl and alt) while your comp is locked up. that should bring up the taskbar so you can at least close eq ;p.

also, a work around is to just download the newest version of eqwindows and play through that. i was being lazy and didn't want to download the newest eqw version, but found that i couldn't play eq without doing so. nfc what caused the problem, but that fixed it (or rather, provided a work-around, heh).

good luck!

This happens to me once in a while too, well, sort of. At the EULA the cursor is in the upper left hand corner and is totally unresponsive. All I do is do a left click and I get control again. It's like EQ isn't the focus until I click on it.

Left mouse click works for me too. Just one click and I'm in.
