Because it's not really a true debate of free flowing thought and explaination of one's position. But, rather a staged exhibition. All they seem to do is bring out a person's flaws. (ie; Bush's inability to speak intelligently and Gore's robotic demeanor.)

The man showed the personality of a stick. Immediately after the campaign is over he starts smiling and popping off sound bytes that make him a media darling.

the fact he even got one vote running against clinton shows how politically relevent he was. clinton would beat jesus in the 2004 elections if they both ran.

bob dole is smart, charismatic, genuine and an honest to goodness war hero. I'm surprised he has any interest in the GOP at all.

Clinton made a lot of news, and accomplished next to nothing in 8 years. Much like his wife is doing now. He alienated the folks who got him in office the first term, and sat on a deadlock through the second term.
