This movie was badass, best war movie since Black Hawk Down, the directing and photography were very, very well done

Yeah, just got back from seeing it. It started off a little slow but once it got going it was very good. It's a pretty sobering view at how fucked up the world is.

It was a pretty good movie, I like the setting and the actual equipment they used; there was no running the other way to avoid military items like most fake special ops movies. I also liked the concept of how it shows you just why religons suck. But there were a couple of things that were just too American badassish. You cant advance and retreat like that and not get shot.. it just doesnt work like that. Jets dont fly that low, ok? And ffs at the end the guys were dying, sthu you dumb african and let the medics take care of them.

In all, it was a good movie, but it didnt match up to We were Soldiers or Black Hawk Down.

It would be tough for any war movie to top We Were Soldiers.

Modern war yes. But my favorite war movie (and favorite movie overall) is Braveheart. Saving Private Ryan was also better, but not a modern war movie either. By modern I mean the use of M-16 and other technological advaces that came post WW2.
