It's being produced by Dean Devlin, so it's going to suck. Sorry, but true. :)

P.S. - This is in the wrong forum. :P

Doh, yeah it is. Well kinda, the other is for movie "reviews", and such. Nothing to really review except my tears on this movie potentially being screwed like a 100lb white boy with a clean ass in prison.

For a moment I chubbed! Then I realized that this could be made really really bad. I'd rather see a movie made like the movies from the actual game than have to worry about shitty special effects and bad acting.

Hopefully it doesn't come out like these 2 cinematic gems...

It will suck. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

*sigh*

I don't have high hopes for this...

Although, Gundam G-Savior (live action w/ mecha) was pretty decent.

This might not suck too badly... =P

I had written a large commentary on my thoughts about this, but realized I could sum it up with my original, final line:

It's going to be another D&D:The Movie.

If D&D had managed to stay true to the handbooks (wtf is a ranger doing in plate?!), and not be so campy, it might have worked.

The mechas were done very nicely in G-Savior (storyline was about two notches above fluff), and I'm hoping that they'll use that as a starting point.

I'm not holding my breath, tho. =P

That abomination needs a WHOLE lot more doing to it before being acceptable.
I shudder at the memory. . .the only good thing about that film is Jeremy Irons' "WTF am I doing here" expression after every scene in the outtakes.

Heh. Never saw the outtakes. Couldn't bear to watch any more of it =/

Lessee. ID4, 8 Legged Freaks...

sample plot line will have clans invading the inner sphere, who just happen to have a macintosh computer that can hack into their comm channels etc etc.

argh!
