Windows 8 Input Devices

Post by Animalor »

I've played with 2 separate input devices recently and I thought I'd share.

First is the Microsoft Touch Mouse - http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us ... /3KJ-00001

This one works surprisingly well. You have the speed, accuracy and conform of a mouse with the added bonus of very responsive gestures on the surface of the device. Comfortable, Sturdy and easy to learn.
The only CON I ran into was playing a game where you had to use the scroll wheel to change weapons. That did not work at all. Slightly irritating.

The second is the Logitech T650 touchpad. http://www.logitech.com/en-ca/product/t ... ?crid=1153

If you like laptop trackpads, this is the device for you. It's nice and big, rechargeable with Micro USB, the gestures work great. It's also very nice aesthetically. You can also tap the trackpad or click it down (a la Mac laptop) for left clicks. I find the force that you need to apply for the clicking is a bit too much but to each his own.

If you don't like trackpads though, this won't change your mind about them.

All in all though, both there are great alternatives to having a Touchscreen for Windows 8 for gesture support.

Now of you don't like trackpads in general, this won't change your mind about them. This is a laptop track
