Pinball for Android Devices

Post by Canelek »

Looking for a pinball app that has boards for "classic" pinball games such as Twilight Zone, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Terminator 2. I have not, obviously, done my research, so figured I'd throw it out there to the ever-game-knowledgeable VV crew. Sure, there are some good pinball emulators out there. I would just prefer to see the ones I loved so much in the 90s adapted for Android (tablet or phone).

Thanks!

Pinball Arcade by Farsight Studios might be what you're looking for. It is free in the Google Play store, and they add new tables over time for purchase. That one has a focus on the classic tables, but I use Zen Pinball THD by Zen Studios. I guess that I might actually buy some of the additional tables for each if I used the pinball apps more often on my android tablet.

I don't know for Android buf figured I'd post here for anyone wanting a very good iPhone/iPad pinball game for free:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/age-of-p ... 87562?mt=8

Age of Pinballs has 12 free tables and has that "old school" feel to it which is a nice change of pace from the high tech Zen Pinball FX2 tables. It's worth the free download and no need to buy any of the extras available for it.

Judging from the video, this pinball app looks pretty good for Android:

It may be tablet only though.

Thanks guys. I <3 me some pinball, so was hoping for "clones" of the real deal games out there.

And yes, it will be for my ASUS Android tablet. Even with a bigass S3 screen, phones just won't cut it.

I posted awhile back about pinball emulators for PC. It's not Android but if you want some exact replicas of classic tables, they're out there and free for the PC.

pinMAME and Visual Pinball are the two big ones.

There may be more recent updates/emulators now.

Eight Ball Deluxe (1980) is my all time favorite pinball machine. Four ways to get a "Special" to light up!

Here are some other classics:

Those are pretty old files at that arcadeathome site. I'd go to http://www.vpforums.org/ instead.

Yeah that's a better site.

Here's a seeded torrent with 750 tables for VP8:

I popped 4 games on Eight Ball Deluxe my first ball*

This table is harder than I remember. I must have used a shitload of quarters getting good at it when I was a kid. Old school tables are a lot harder to score on than those Pinball FX tables.

*after I modified the table and blocked the side gutters and lengthened my flippers!

The Visual Pinball editor isn't that hard to use.

We should have a contest to design a VeeshanVault table. I've already got some ideas. I'd have a set of drop down targets that spelled out C L I Q U É. Knocking those down would light up the "Ban Cart" special.

Id have a ball lock at the top of a ramp, each locked ball would spell out a letter of the word F E A R, when the 4th ball locked, Zerg mode would be unleashed, releasing all four balls into play and Cazic would pop up in the middle of the table. Each time one of the balls drained, Cazic's attack speed would increase, making it harder to hit the ramp between his legs to kill him.

After draining a ball, on your next ball in play, a gate would light up. As you continued to shoot the ball through the gate, it's flipping action would slowly move a Rogue carrying your previous dead ball across the top of the table. If the Rogue made it to the other side before your next ball drained you'd have a successful CR and gain an extra ball.

Repeatedly hitting the Firepot would light up V E E S H A N and unleash dragon mode. Tilting the machine would cause a guide to materialize and teleport your ball out of play.

Still working on more ideas.
