I am hosting a vent server for my Rift/Wow people. I recenly used the crack to make it go up to 100 people (wishful thinking). Previously I was set up to only have 8 people. I have this set up on a second computer and I connect to it with my gaming computer with the internal IP address instead of the external IP address the others need to use.
The problem I am having though is random disconnections for people coming in from outside. We'll have 5-7 people on and we'll all be chatting and then one person will disconnect and then come right back. This will happen randomly to everyone except me. Watching the server screen I can see the 10054 error when they disconnect. I tried looking for answers but wasn't able to get too far.
Anyone else have this issue in the past or know of a fix? Maybe a better crack?

I don't know the answer to your Vent problem, but have you looked into using Mumble? It's open source and free.

I haven't tried any crack-fu on vent but I use it almost every night and it works great.
It could also be your host causing issues.
we use typefrag as the host:
https://www.typefrag.com/services/ventrilo-hosting/
not sure how those prices compare but it's had solid performance for months.

I like replying to threads I don't actually read too!
But on topic, 100% it's the crack that is causing the issue. I have never seen a ventrilo crack work consistently for any period of time, you're way better off using mumble or just renting a server.

Re: Problem with my Vent server
I figured it out. My computer had an update to my antivirus that it kept wanting to restart my computer for. I kept hitting Restart Later. Finally I restarted the computer and sure enough all the disconnects stopped happening.
