I just got into survivor last year. I'm not much of a reality TV guy but this show is awesome. To get on the show you need to submit a 3 minute video along with the application package. Here's mine:

I remember submitting an application for the first season. Online video submissions were not an option back then, hehe.

Watching part of that first season and comparing it to what my friends and I thought it was going to be made me glad I didn't go. It was nothing like what they made it out to be in the correspondence.

I haven't watched since season 2, but I'm sure the formula has barely changed since it was successful out the gate.

Thanks for the replies folks. I'm pretty sure that video is better than 90% of the apps they get, but they get tens of thousands so who knows? They interview 800 peeps so I assume I'll at least get a call and interview. I wasn't trying to be anything other than my natural self. As far as my stories, I figure I can give them that information at a later date to sweeten my app. I'll update you guys if or when another step is taken, or I have to make another video next year. This one was shot and edited in just 2 days. Wish me luck!

Got the first call back. It's supposed to be completely confidential but I think this forum is anonymous, isn't it? 15 minute phone interview and they wouldn't tell me anything about any follow up interviews. I'm pretty excited though. Especially with the turnaround time. They told me not to put my video on youtube so I took it down. I'm pretty happy though!

I liked it.

You're of average build and not ugly. Those two are a plus. You seem to be a good age for the demographic. Your attitude and demeanor could be seen as having an underhanded/villainous character on the show, which they like. You seemed open and able to communicate comfortably on camera. You showcased your persona and I think it would work well on the show.

Congrats on the call back, but just to be sure I would delete this thread and keep everything private from here on out. When narrowing down choices, I would hate for something as simple as a msg board post come between you and the chance to be on Survivor!

I think I watched the first 4-5 seasons then stopped mainly due to having to work second shift. If you made it on I would tell all of my friends I know you (even though I don't, at all!).

haha. I'm pretty confident this board will have 0 factor in their decision making lol. At the very least I'll have this nervous excited feeling for a little while. It's fun.

As someone who watched every season of Survivor, I feel pretty confident in saying you won't make it very far with that persona (or whatever you want to call it).

People grew tired of the "bad boy". They got rid of them early on and most of those assholes in the game didn't make the jury. You can blame Russel from Survivor Samoa.

I'm just saying. If you are serious about winning it, you can't be a total asshole. What you have going though is that you're a guy and you seem athletic so they will tend to keep you around for that purpose solely (but not if you're a prick).

I also suggest you try quitting smoking for 40 days and see how cranky you can get. It would be a shame to see you leave because you had a bad day without a cigarette.

Does the lack of posts mean he made it on the show?

Anyone have him on a friend list for any console or perhaps Steam? If his inactivity can be pinpointed and triangulated, we can likely figure this out!

no word yet. They told me filming starts in late may early june so there's still a chance. But I'm not as hopeful. Will have to make a better video for next year.
