Stumbled across this article and found it interesting. It sounds as if JM could possibly be a hoax, which wouldn't exactly surprise me. What do you think? Is it feasible that the entire show could be loosely scripted? Or are there just a lot of people with vague ties to acting and what have you because they would be more likely to hear that a show was in development that needed people to try out for it?

Either way, if it's entertaining, I'll watch it.

If there's a suspicion it might be a hoax, it's even more entertaining, in my opinion.

Good article.. I've kinda wondered about the authenticity of the show.. wouldn't suprise me at all if it's fake.

It is entertaining to watch but it wouldn't surprise me if there is something more underhanded behind this. I find it hard to beleive that no news organizations have dug up anything on any of the contestants other than the whole Sarah thing.

His reasons for suspecting its a hoax are pretty far reaching and completely explainable.

It doesn't surprise me that some if not all of the girls were actresses and got called in through their agents. What easier way for the producers to quickly find attractive women who have decent on-screen presentation. Doesn't mean their acting by any means, just that they have experience in front of cameras or working in those types of situations.

Just because Evan & Sarah left their mics on when they made out means nothing. He assumes they were "rolling around" but doesn't know what physically happened. Its possible that who ever was laying down briefly did remove the pack on the back (we dont know). They got some visual privacy, maybe they don't care that anyone could hear them. The writer acts as if its incomprehensible that anyone would not care that *shock* people heard them making out.

Similarly, with Sarahs trip to Evan's room, the writer needs to remember that these people are filmed pretty much 24-7 in their rooms, so why is it a shock that the camera crew saw her leave her room?? Sarah & Evan know this is a TV show & that they have to wear mics and be under the camera's gaze all the time. They know that when they do anything they need to be wearing a mic and to expect a film crew around.

Then the writer talks about gay gossip sites and a plethora of internet sites/emails I would hardly assume have ANY credibility.
But are any of these dubious aspects of the Joe Millionaire show revealed to us by the daily papers or the TV newscasts?
LOL. What a moron. Thats like asking why the giant cat picture or bonsai kittens article haven't become front-page news by now.

Yeah lots of actresses go on these reality shows to get exposure and to have something with themselves on camera so they can show it around to producers and casting agents and shit. Actors and actresses have been going on game shows for decades for the same reason.

Also, I believe the camera crew and sound guy are using one of those directional mikes that they can point in a direction and get audio that way. I don't think the people on the show are actually wearing clip on microphones. There's also static cameras trained on everyone's door 24/7.

I very much doubt it is fake simply because it would be cheaper for Fox to make it real.
