I heard on the radio this morning that Frenchie from American Idol (you remember the very large black woman with the short pink hair and great voice?) won't be continuing with the competition because she was involved with a porn site. They didn't give any info whether she was *doing* porn or what, so who knows. Either way, I think its shitty. Its not like the music industry has a squeaky clean image...

Wow that sucks. I thought she had a great chance of going on to the top 10. Last night I liked the guy with the goofy look who went first and the big dude with the 205 shirt.

Just checked their site and there is nothing listed there yet about this.

However, I just looked at the pictures of the top 32 and she wasn't in there.

I liked the big guy and the chick that went on after him, although I thought it was pretty weak doing the same song she did before. I missed the 1st guy, but I think his nerdy look is cute

Ruben (the big guy) did the same song that they had to do when they performed in groups of 3. Clay (the geek) was pretty good. He was very clear. For all I know that Rainbow chick doesn't know any other songs.

I liked the big fella and the first guy(the goofy one).

I think Frenchie would have gone far. The public likes that Jerry Springer personality.

I am SICK of seeing that chick from Phoenix all over the local news every night. They've been advertising a "special" coming up where a bunch of her friends sit around and tell stories about her.

That's great she's reaching for her dreams, I find that admirable, but give me a fucking break. I can't stand turning on the news on Tuesday nights to see American Idol as the lead story.

The best part of that show is when Simon sits there and tells them how horribly they suck, then they smile and nod and say "Thank you!!" Gives me warm fuzzies!

I hate when they stand their and argue with Simon's opinion of them. He's the one who will sign them, and they think by acting like an asshole, that is a good thing. /boggle

I think the purpose of the show is to find an "idol" an icon sort of. Someone not only with talent but personality and values that young people can look up to.

Music industry certainly isn't perfect but at this point in the competition dirt like that can be an obstacle hard to overcome. Apparently Fox doesn't think negative attention is best for their show.

I have heard the judges state several times that they liked the clean wholesome look of a few of the young female singers. Some said stuff similar to "not like the slutty singer chicks that are popular today".

Don't get me wrong, I love slutty singer chicks...but that's the basic feeling I get from the judges particularly that white guy...they want a star with a clean feel to him/her.

Hard for a fat black chick with a porn star resume to put forward a clean image....although I think they should state what they are looking for up front to be more then just singing talent, showmanship and looks...but also your moral background.

Watch Jerry Springer once. Notice how trailer park they act. How every woman is telling the next to talk to their hand, our that they are all that and a bag of potato chips, etc.

I've never been very impressed with our local news here in the Phoenix Metro area. I'll go to http://www.azcentral.com if I'm curious about any local news for a quick look.
