If you played the original on the PS3, you'll instantly enjoy the sequel.
There's no need to have played the original to understand the sequel.
The sequel picks up 2 years after the original but it's a stand-alone story with different characters (there are cameos by characters from the original).
The game is a brilliant mix of strategy and action.
The PSP is just getting bombed with top notch titles these days.
MGS: Peace Walker, Persona 3, Valkyria Chronicles 2... next week is Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep and a week later Phantasy Star Portable 2... not to mention some personal favorites like Ys Seven and BlazBlue Portable.

Kingdon Hearts isn't getting a PSN release so fuck Disney/SquEnix.
Y's Seven is quite good. Enjoying that one quite a bit. Tactical RPG's aren't my cup of tea as I've discovered with FFTactics and Disgea: Afternoon of Darkness. I'll be passing. From the demo the production values look excellent though.

Re: Valkyria Chronicles 2
There's like 6 people at work with PSPs now. We've been running missions on PSP2 demo and MGS:PW for the past while.
A few others who hang out with us in the lounge are talking about picking up their own.
I think VC2 is going to be our new thing.
A lot of the missions can be run through in 15-20 minutes which is just perfect.

So, when we see the crash in Canada, it will be your fault!
