Other than Dell, HP, and Best Buy are there any other good retail options any more? I don't shop much since I'm usually building my own...

worst name ever can help with that...cyberpowerpc.com They make custom builds and warrant them. They won't be as easy as a Dell or HP or Gateway...but you will get more for less out of them.

Probably going to recommend an Acer Athlon II X3 PC and an 21.5" ASUS Monitor. $660 including shipping.

Quad-core is overkill for web surfing and e-mail but the 3 core AMD chip is like a bastard stepchild thus priced very right. (Yes, I know it's a brain-dead quad with 1 core turned off due to yield defects!)
